...better option than NBC?
... feature more than 250 MLS games, live coverage of 31 PGA Tour events, Top Rank Boxing on ESPN (including Amir Khan vs. Phil Lo Greco on April 21), “thousands of live college sports events” from non-power conferences and some of ESPN’s original content like 30 for 30.
...
ESPN+ will not include streaming of ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNews or ESPN Classic, or the sports broadcast on those channels – like live NFL, NBA, MLB and college games. That still requires an existing cable, satellite or over-the-top subscription (from Sling TV, DirecTV Now or similar services). The same goes for ESPN’s daily and weekly shows like Pardon the Interruption.

ESPN+ was initially announced after Disney spent $1.58 billion last year to up its stake in streaming tech company BAMTech to 75%. BAMTech had been a division of Major League Baseball Advanced Media; MLB and the NHL still have minority interests in the company.
so is Fox and its related reach through regional sports networks, what's your point?**** ESPN. Do we really want our sport on that political garbage channel that it turned into?

Would ESPN even bid for the NHL TV rights given the huge mess they are in right now?
IT'S ABC'S library pre 2006I'd see them as a secondary network partner to NBC, similar to Turner's MLB contract or CBC's role w/Rogers in Canada. ESPN could bid for a game of the week, let's say on a Sunday that would be in prime time (8:00 Eastern) and start after the NFL season, let's say the second week of January.
You clearly don't understand the centralized nature of ESPN and their conscious decision to move into leftist politics. Contrast that with the decentralized nature of Fox and the fact that they have nothing to do with Foxnews.so is Fox and its related reach through regional sports networks, what's your point?
