Westminster Dog Show Will Move Outdoors in 2021
The event, long a fixture at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan, will move to Lyndhurst, a riverside estate in Westchester County, in June to comply with pandemic restrictions.
The change to a warm-weather, outdoor show was necessary, organizers said, to ensure the event could take place and still comply with the “ever-changing government restrictions” brought on by the health crisis.
Totally off-topic but imagine an outdoor dog-show and then this squirrel goes running thru. Major LOL.
Some pretty big news for potential cross-border play next season:
Travellers entering Canada by land or air through Alberta will soon have the option of being tested for COVID-19 at the border in a move that could shorten quarantine times— in a pilot project that's the first of its kind in Canada, Premier Jason Kenney announced Thursday.
The mandatory quarantine period for returning international travellers will be maintained for now. But the 14-day day self-isolation period could be shortened to about 48 hours if a traveller receives a negative COVID-19 test result.

Well there goes the dream of a Canadian division..
Not really - NHL has too many cases of a team playing say in Boston on Thursday and then Montreal on a Saturday. When they do come back it will be a compressed schedule so....
I couldn't agree with you more, the NHL will have a 2020/21 season, to much to lose if they don't, the NHL is looking at the big picture, cancelling the season is not an option for the NHL or any other major sports league.I think that's unlikely given how much work they put into finishing this last season. Possible they use that as a threat to extract more concessions from the players though!
Wouldn't be a good look to be the only NA pro league that cancels the season and would likely harm long term relationships with broadcasters and sponsors at a time when the US broadcast rights contract is coming up for renewal.

Things could be worse, I think with the proper plan in place the NHL will be able to have a season, you just need to be flexible. I dont see the NHL cancelling their season, thats my opinion, but we'll see what happens. Things could change a lot in the right direction in the States on November 3rd.6.5 million from NBC
10.6 million from Rogers
21 million from Seattle - plus each market has local media deals (USD amounts)
Without fans there is no revenue from tickets, parking, concessions - merchandise will be down.
For the weaker teams - no revenue sharing as there isn't any.
It is pretty much a given that until there is a vaccine most local governments will not allow gatherings inside.
Things are looking grim.

Maybe not. AHL call ups would have to be 3 days in advance of need (for that 48 hour quarantine). If guy goes down with injury today, it would be three days before replacement could be in a game for you; teams might have to skate short.
There is still negotiation ongoing for international travelers to be tested in advance and have that reported to arrival country to eliminate any quarantine. And the NHL could negotiate something with Canada (federal) and provinces.
If teams have to go through that 48 hour quarantine, it might be they need 3 days travel/wait between last game played and first Canada road game (and do some/all in one sweep).
Lots unknown.

Ouch.
No owner has been hit harder by this than Jeremy Jacobs as his business was designed on continuous cash flow via concessions and Delaware North was hammered worldwide. DN also invested heavily in expansion around TD Garden that a year ago seemed like a huge win - today it looks like a disaster.
