Pretty much everything said before is what I want. Better AI, better Be A GM, etc..

So here are some random ideas I have.

-Custom Schedules for Be A GM: Make it a drag and drop kinda thing, where it gives you a calender and have a "bank" sort of thing were you drag and drop games into your calender. Might make the game more interesting to play. Not sure how well this would work but it would be cool.

-Make the first round of the draft like the actual entry draft: Have it like a cut scene where the general manager and scouts for the respective squad come up and announce the pick and the player hugging his parents and coming down at putting on the jersey. Obviously this would be only for the first round obviously and have the rest of the rounds the boring text list format for 2-7. Makes it more of a fun experience. And make the trading in between each pick and have Gary Bettman go up to the podium and announce the trade. I think this would make the experience really fun and would make me want to do the draft.

-Have players request trades: FIFA does this and it would make Be A GM more realistic. If a player isn't getting enough ice time, have him request to have more playing time or he wants out.

-Be A Coach: Make it like Be A GM, but you are a coach. You make the line-up changes, run practices, etc... Your GM makes trades for you but you can make recommendations for players that you could trade or try to acquire. Would be quite fun.

Now for a really unrealistic idea that probably won't happen.

-Custom Commentary: Make it like a GPS sort of system. Have a template of sayings and commentaries to say and record them and have them be used. Upload it to the EA servers and download commentators/commentary that you enjoy. Would make the commentary something really fun.

Not sure how realistic some of these ideas are, but I would play NHL 13 24/7 if these were all added.

I wish EA would improve the trading in the game. Steal some of 2ks trade ideas.

-What I really love from 2k is the option of using a "trade finder"...which means selecting a player you're interested in and the other team automatically tells you what they would like from your team for that player(s). This is much easier than having to play around for hours on a perfect trade using all sorts of player/pick combinations to get it done. Anyone who has played the nba 2k series from 2k11 onwards knows what I'm talking about.

-You can also use trade finder on your own players to see what other teams would offer. Another thing I like (although nothing major) is when a team rejects your offer they sometimes give a counter offer.

-Lastly, 2k implemented a 3rd team to be involved in trades as well, and lets face it, if NHL 13 wants to be as realistic as possible, they should include the option of having multiple teams involved in trades, which helps out those teams who are close to the cap.

Id like to see a favorite lines option for Be a GM

So you can save certain line combos, whether that be putting a prospect on the 1st or 2nd line on easier opponents so they get more experience and ice time, or having just custom lines that work more efficient

Also this would make it so the best lines thing wont put good fighters on the 2nd or 3rd line. Its really annoying when you sign a guy like Parros and the computer keeps trying to make him a 2nd liner because hes like an 85. A lot of the time when I sign Tough Guys Ill make sure their OVR is lower than the 3rd liner

This would make it so when injuries happen and you need to individually substitute the player on the ES lines, PP lines, PK lines, extra attacker, shootout, etc lines. Which takes like 15 minutes just to do.

They should add the KHL or put in a made up Russian hockey league. They should allow the user to type in a city name for a created team instead of just the cities listed and the same goes for nicknames. NHL 13 should bring back the feature from NHL 07 on the xbox where the user could change the shape and size of a created players face.

Additionally go back to where in NHL 10 you could have more than 1 club game for your club at a time. Oh wait that would prob require having decent servers. Seriously I NEVER lose connection on any other game I play. Only with EA's worthless servers to I see this once a day now.

Stick physics that work. At the very least when a body goes THROUGH a stick the puck should automatically come off the stick. It used to with frequency which makes it obvious they tried to cater to noobs and made it easier to hold the puck. On the same token they destroyed any sense of hitting physics or puck physics by taking away the poke check and giving Pejorative Slured balance. "Hitting was unrealistic" no YOU just sucked and ran right into guys without passing and you got checked like you deserved. Now hold A and skate backwards and you can practically skate into the goal it's beyond bad.

Fix glitches within a reasonable time. Why did it take months to get rid of the goalie possession glitch where you could fall into him? Why does the D AI still let guys fly past them dozens of times per game? Why when theres three guys back on D and the AI is closest does the AI never ever put pressure on the puck carrier or make a hit. You have to make out with the AI to get it to hit you. As a result BAP G mode is a joke. Worst game mode I've ever played no way they could be proud of that piece of crap mode...yet they cluelessely make the BAP rewards ridiculously hard to attain.

Make it so OTP counts more. Why don't my OTP and club stats show up? Why can't I attain my boosts via OTP? Makes no sense except to force players to buy the boosts.

Kick for awful performance. Goalie gives up 3 goals in the 1st period including 2 from beyond the blueline with no one else in the zone? Option to kick comes in handy. Player goes offsides 5 times in one period? ESPECIALLY a defender. Guys position score is below a B. All these things are pretty easy for the game to pick up on. Or how bout grading a player more on individual performance rather than on the fact that your goalie is skating out of the net and giving up free goals?

Also how bout the option to leave momentarily. AI can jump on the ice for you as soon as the whistle blows. Y'know like they line change offline? Like in real hockey? If a guy is away for 10 seconds (character standing completely still) he should automatically be taken out and replaced with AI. If he does it 3 times he's out of the game.

A LOT of in game things need to be improved especially online. Hopefully they focus on improving the actual game and less on breaking glass and goalie physics which dont work

I agree drives me crazy when you go to play a drop in game or a club game when someone leaves the room and stops playing or pauses the game. i love your idea with using the bench i have been saying that for a bit now. instead of someone pausing the game that player should go off to the bench. When that player is ready to continue playing he/she just calls for a line change. you can take it one more step lets say a club game is already started and one of your team mates just logged on. that player could pick an available position and load into the game. once loaded you are on the bench. just call for a line change. thoughts?

one thing i was just thinking of that i would really like is stats organised into a timeline. i change my lines around a lot to see who works best with who. it would be really cool if i could look at a time chart and say, "todd bertuzzi did really well on the first line with pavel datsyuk 2 months ago, but his numbers are slacking since i paired him with darren helm on the 3rd line." i don't know much about video game programming, but this seems well within the realm of possibility.

a little more unrealistic, but i'd really like to see better facial mapping. i know there are a lot of players in the NHL and it's unrealistic to expect a perfect portrait of all of them, but some are clearly just stock faces slapped on for a quick fix. vyecheslav voynov looks like your average joe smith, and i think teemu pulkkinen and joey macdonald swapped features somehow.

finally, i'd like to see some more euro leagues..ligue magnus, polska liga..but mostly just KHL. i'd be happy with KHL. i imagine there is a reason this hasn't been done yet though.

Some things they really need to fix (but won't):
Realistic trades, in which prospects actually have value. I shouldn't be able to trade Brad Boyes and a 4th round pick for Mikael Granlund. Also, have actual ****ing feedback as opposed to just accepting/declining the trade. something like, "We are looking for (fill in the blank): a certain player, this draft pick, we want to keep this player but are still interested in working out a deal with someone else in their place, etc.
I hope they fix skating so you can actually catch people flat footed/speed can actually make a difference. Zdeno Chara shouldn't be able to be a half step in front of and to the side of tyler ennis and cut him off by backskating.
Also, ragdoll physics on nearly every hit
Your AI is dumb as **** on powerplays and refuses to do anything except stand still in one spot.
Chemistry should matter to a certain extent.
More random seasons (breakout seasons for young guys, a guy randomly plays really well, a really good player struggles for a year, etc)
The computer's first 2 lines can play basically an entire game and never be tired, even if I make fatigue more of a factor in the settings. WTF.
I really hope the backskating isn't a total troll move for the offense, but it could make defensemen on the point a lot more dangerous/able to set up shots and passes better and it's just more realistic
Have age play a role in injuries I really wish they could have past injuries play a role there too, but I know that's asking way too much from EA. Like Tim Connolly has a higher possibility of being injured than other people cause of his injury history.

Smaller stuff that would add to the gameplay:
Is it that hard to get the right goal horns when 2K/Espn hockey did it in 2005-2006?
Skate with the stanley cup like in 2K10
Better commentary
Stats from a player's whole career. For real, how difficult is that.

I think it would be POSSIBLE from a technical stand point (no idea, but I imagine it would be), but it would never happen.

They do have Be A Coach in GM Connected or Be a Gm.

It would be really cool if in GM Connected there is a winter classic every year between two teams on January 1st. Like this year Toronto would verse Detroit in an outdoor game on that day instead of inside Joe Louis arena.

I always tought it would be cool if they added a few old dynasties and good old teams (at the same time). So you could play the 80's Oilers versus the 2002 Red Wings for example.

I mean, the Legends team is cool but theres really no fair opponent except the exact same team...

Not sure if this has been mentioned but I'd like to play GM mode being the 31st team in the league.

You start out with a bunch of Free Agents and build your team.

I know you can just replace a team but then all the players go to the free agency, i'd just like to join into the league type thing

Naturally this will never go into NHL13, but I'd really love to see some enhancements to the draft/scouting model for BaGM.

1. Rework the "amateur scouting" upgrade option. Right now I can sim through four seasons and suddenly I'm an A or better in scouting every region. That's absurd. Let me invest in certain areas regions more so than others. A simple points system would allow me to invest 20 of my accumulated points into SEL scouting, which could give me a legitimate leg up on other teams. As an alternative, allow me to hire/fire scouts from each region. Give me two slots per league and let me hire scouts who excel in certain areas. Maybe I want a defensive specialist scouting the Finnish league, and a guy who specializes in goalies working in Russia.

2. Tying into that, how about some "off the board" picks. As the draft runs through, every team drafts from the same ranking chart. I know that 10 picks from now, it's likely that team "X" is going to take the guy ranked 10th on the board currently. I should be able to have my own scouting list and my staff should chime in at the draft table and say, "Hey, I love this guy and he's still on the board. We should make a move to get him." I can elect to take a risk and pick them, or take someone else who was ranked higher.

3. Add in-round activity. Such a pain in the ass to have the entire round go by and not be able to trade mid-round to grab someone, or at least work on trades for the next couple rounds.

4. Draft board. Allow me to mark guys of interest instead of having to scribble their name on a piece of paper and try to remember it for later.

you can add a team ( or two but only control one ) and then have to pick players from FA and get the first overal pick

also I wsih they would fix the "i expect this many wins " it should just be playoffs or whatever

when my oilers are expected to win 46 games and the caps are expected to win 36 theres something wrong
