I love tiramisu. My wife and I spent part of our honeymoon in Italy, and you better believe I got tiramisu every chance I got.

There was one I had at a little hole in the wall restaurant in Florence that was so good, tasting the first bite was like a religious experience.

I'm not really a huge tiramisu fan but I'll go to town on a chocolate brownie parfait in a plastic cup I get at Kroger so do with that what you will.

If a dessert doesn't have chocolate or lemon I'm really not terribly interested, to be honest. I have this other thing that any dessert which requires a utensil is better to be eaten with a spoon than a fork. These are my dessert facts.

We are Devils fans. That means we veer into music, food, drink, travel, socioeconomic topics, and more. We are the most interesting fans in the world!

We also have no attention span. Span… like bridges. Hey did you see that guy doing a project to visit and photograph every covered bridge in Pennsylvania?

I bet Nemec would love to hear about it. :sarcasm:

Not for nothing, but if the defense is going to be as bad as it’s been (which is absolutely a reasonable concern the way I see it), I would rather see this guy up instead of watching Smith and Miller duke it out for who can be the least bad for the 6D spot. Couldn’t be much sloppier than it’s been to this point.

It’s not gonna happen.

I’ve been over this and this is why people were so quick to punt Miller after his poor preseason. Because they thought he was blocking Nemec. And it turns out Smith (who relegated to the 7th defenseman by about February of last year and who I thought for sure we were done with as a starting defenseman) is the one Miller is sitting for lol.

It's definitely going to happen. It's just a matter of when. And the answer to that question is a mix of how all the party's involved are playing. And as was talked about somewhat recently, how Smith is handling that 2nd teir PK spot is a big part of that, and a big part of why he is in over Miller at the moment.

And of course Nemec is currently out of the lineup in AHL, so he's not close to coming up.

Now per Smith vs Miller, I am not big Smith guy so I'm a little surprised he's in the lineup, though as noted above, PK plays into, but I am not that surprised that Miller is getting squeezed. He was brought in to at best be a 4-5 month place holder. Definitely not considered an actual piece to the puzzle.

He'll be back up soon enough.

Was at back to back restaurants recently with no chocolate on the desert menu. I partook but look back at it as wasted calories.

I think it will happen, just not this early on. Unless at least one more guy gets injured. An injury to Miller was never getting him called up because Miller wasn’t playing anyway.

I thought Miller was also a PK guy?

Pretty minimal PK usage from Miller in his career.

To the point about Miller's injury not precluding Nemec's call up, I think you are right, and that goes to my point above, Miller is a place holder because they don't want Nemec up early in the year. Miller's injury doesn't change that.

He's not. The only year he got meaningful pk time was in Vegas. Everywhere else he has seldom on the kill. Was the only real curiosity when acquiring him
I was under the impression that he was someone to soften the blow of losing Severson and Graves, but also not to rush Nemec, all the while being an upgrade over Smith. Seems like he’s merely a an extra depth piece. I’m sure he’s still likely an upgrade over the 2023 version of Smith at even strength.

He was brought in as that. Then he was absolutely f***ing awful in camp and is hurt now

If he doesn’t PK then I’m not sure he ever had a head up on a nightly spot over Smith.

But who knows?

But who knows?

They started off pairing Miller with Bahl and then Luke while Smith was with Foote. The plan was Miller to be the regular over Smith
