DaveArt

Although I have to admit I loved Dave when I was a kid like 20 years ago. I remember him having an annual mask design competition for Finnish/Swedish magazine Pro Hockey. One year a winning design was actually a baby's bottom.

Nowadays I think most his designs are just cluttered garbage, and I prefer more cleaner look for masks. I miss the days when goalies were recognizable simply by their masks.

I actually won one of those mask design contests with this one back in early 2000 or something, my brother plays with the mask in Finland. They were pretty cool back then but I've got to agree with you, nowadays Dave's masks are way too crowded.

Luongo's masks are probably my favourites, I love the design and his style/themes.

What's the difference between Carey Price 2014 and 2015? I don't see it.

For Rinne: I love Mad Max, but what an ugly mask.

Not a fan of DaveArt, but I like the Bishop one, for some reasons.

His 2015 mask has fewer mini-logos, the laces on the chin are different, and the ghosted "Canadiens" word mark appears to be slightly bigger.

Its like this generation of goalies just doesnt understand how awesome it is to have a signature mask. Also one that looks good on tv and from the stands. Thankfully, at least a few guys like Hiller get the latter.

Doesn't appear to be anyone's mask, but a mask art contest design. Take away about 400 of the mini-stars and that's actually a decent Jackets design.

Blue Jackets artwork...

During the spring the Columbus Blue Jackets ran a mask contest. Draw a design and your design can be picked, and I was honored to create it . Thanks Columbus Blue Jackets!

It was so fun to create the winner design. A design built on the awesome CBJ logos, and I loaded it with 3-D effects and all the DAVEART Trademark FX. It was a fun ride smile emoticon

Here you also find a pic of the winner with the mask together with the CBJ goalies Bobrovsky and McElhinney.

Thank you all ❤

I'm not sure I really get the glow in the dark trend in masks?

Since when is hockey played in the dark?

Maybe they wear them to bed and it's a substitute for a night light?

Most arenas don't even get dark enough during intros for the effect to be seen?

Also, just a side note. Calling yourself the "cradle of creativity" might be the doucheyist thing I've ever heard a guy give himself that label. Really Dave, the cradle of creativity, really? Maybe he should call himself the "pile of trying way to damn hard", that seems much more fitting.

I do enjoy reading his descriptions of each mask. Every single one of them contains some variation of "...and of course the mask is LOADED with the usual trademark effects and details..."

Ryan Miller's equipment from last season for sale, along with the two versions of the V6 Vaughn blocker he never used.

Looking forward to seeing his setup this year.
