Looks like the Devils chart for the song voting isn't realtime.. Still the same numbers from 4 hours ago

I hope the chart is accurate because the other songs are HORRIBLE !

So management doesn't like "you suck", but ends up putting a popular "you suck"-able goal song as a finalist in the poll?

Seems legit.
How is SNA a "you suck" chant song? I've been racking my brain and can't seem to figure out where people can chant it.

Very interesting letter from a fan's POV: http://speakingofthedevils.com/?p=5140

^ pretty much this. I sent them an email the other day saying this whole thing has been a sham, that they're using a fake vote as a guise of "oh we really care what you guys think!". That it's straight up dis-respectful to the fans, and that they wouldn't be receiving any money from me.

At this point, while I still want the old goal song back, it's become much more than that. A fake vote, force feeding us ****** songs that they've chosen, is much worse than just changing something a large portion of the fan base loved. If SNA doesn't win this final vote, it's the final nail in the coffin. I will not contribute money to ownership that has no respect for its fans.

I'm glad I'm not the only one willing to put my money where my mouth is.

You can still do that and attend games, by purchasing tix on Stubhub.
Those tix are already purchased and sold by fans/ticket holders, not the team.

No reason to stop supporting the actual team (players) who have nothing to do with this goal song debacle.

I've still had a good time at every home game even with the goal song confusion.

Well do you ever purchase any food or drinks when you go to games? Straight to the owners pocket.

Hurting the secondary market also makes season ticket holders less willing to buy season tickets (which the owners have apparently already done with whatever this "broker" stuff I've seen mentioned is)..thus indirectly hurting the owners.

Exactly, Puck. Hurt secondary business and you'll end up hurting the Devils bottom-line which is all that our new owners care about, apparently.

A goal song will stop you from supporting a team ???

I dont care if the goal song was the Barney theme song, I would attend as much as possible

I'm kind of upset they didn't at least try Chelsea Dagger. I know some will say Chicago kind of monopolized that, but that's probably one of the few upbeat songs that you can't say you suck too. To be honest, I'm not a big fan of chanting you suck, it just honestly comes across as trashy and disrespectful.

With Seven Nation Army, it's probably one of the few songs that give a good atmosphere after scoring (RRP2 was probably the best) and gets the crowd involved, but they are clearly going to chant "You Suck" regardless.

They would chant you suck regardless. During or after the song.

Wrong.
Only a fraction of the concession spend is recognizable revenues to the owners.
Vast majority of money goes to Aramark who prepay a lump sum to the Devils for the right to sell their products in The Rock.

The Devils may get a very small % commission but $15 towards a beer & a pretzel is a blip on the screen and not worth depriving yourself of enjoying Devils hockey live.

The Devils make their $$ on ticket sales ordered at the box office, TM or through the team. Not through StubHub.

Staying home hurts the fan himself if he truly enjoys attending games live, since the fan has a method of doing so without buying tickets to the team if they want to prove a point.

It's a falsehood to think that buying through StubHub or from fellow fans hurts two billionaire owners. :)
But if people feel good about doing so, no one's stopping them.

Just not the fans that I want to be around at games or in the pub.
