OT: New Goal Song Talk Part iV

I'm surprised at how many people don't like The Whip. I thought it was far and away the best pick.

I didn't think it was bad (whereas Bon Jovi and Monster Truck were awful), but it was not as good as SNA. That was the only song the crowd embraced and did not boo afterwards.

Granted I give very little weight to how original or unique a song is. If it works and the crowd likes it, I could not care less if half the league uses it.

They should just accept the compromise. With SNA the crowd says You suck a lot less then they did with RNRpt2, plus the *insert team name here* sucks chant is gone completely.

They should just live with a few sucks (they deal with it for the lineups in the intro, the Rags suck Flyers swallow crap)

I know a lot of guys don't care but I don't like the fact that the whip is used by like 6 teams around the league.

When I heard it on youtube I wasn't too upset by it. The problem is the Devils never gave the song a chance. It sounded awful at full volume. Same with Righteous Smoke.

I'm sure I'd feel differently if they played it normal volume (like SNA).

(BTW, I think you can chant you suck to both songs. It's pretty easy. The fans were just drowned out because the team was afraid of that happening. So the result was that the songs sounded positively awful. It was like assault on your ear drums. But on youtube the songs do song great in my opinion.)

A Devils rep called me to sell tickets and I told him that I understand he likely had nothing to do with the song change but the options to choose from were complete garbage and the aim to become more family friendly is a joke.

He told me that a ton of fans are amped for SNA. I refuse to believe that.

If I had to eat one of a live hornet, a moldy, slimy old sandwich, and a fresh carrot, I'd be pretty stoked for the carrot even though I don't particularly like them.

wouldnt having the same goal song EVERY goal also be repetitive same for banging the same person over and over for years.

the whip is terrible......but i cant decide which is worse; monster truck or whip.

devo is pissed about wasting that word on a **** song.

I honestly don't have a problem with SNA. Even with the You suck taken out. It seemed to work pretty well, it is catchy as hell. I am perfectly happy with SNA and putting this to bed.

I've listened to the Rags one and compared it to SNA.

They don't sound the same......at all.
