Figured there is a lot shows/movies on Netflix that are really too minor to start a thread over so figured we should have a general Netflix thread where we can discuss these. Especially since so much of the population subscribes to it. Also feel free to discuss what is coming soon on Netflix. Obviously major shows and movies get their own threads still.

I'll start it off. Over the last 2 nights I watched original movies, "Like Father" and "Extinction"

Like Father, starring Kristen Bell was actually pretty good! Easily could have seen this one make it in the theaters and one of my favorite original netflix movies to date. How 'Like Father' Became Netflix's Unexpected Hit of the Summer

Extinction on the other hand had a great twist in it but the first portion of the movie basically was a snoozefest, very average B sci fi flick.

I have the Upflix app that notifies you whenever something new comes on Netflix. I'll get a notification that twenty seven new movies have dropped, only to find that twenty three of them are Bollywood shows.:ha:

Oh f*** American Vandal Season 2 is coming out? That show's hilarious. I actually cancelled a week ago after I heard about them putting ads in (plus I was pissed at how bad the Canadian catalogue for films has gotten) but I might resubscribe for a month to watch that and catch a few films before cancelling again.

I will say that in fairness to Netflix, it's still better than the dog pile of shit that is Amazon Prime Canada's film section. The only decently known classic films they have are ones like My Man Godfrey or His Girl Friday that're already in the public domain. Their collection of newer films is fairly bad for the quantity too, you have some obvious recent ones that every film fan has seen like Moonlight, Manchester, Lady Bird, Nightcrawler, etc. I'm someone who's only seen like 50-70% of the top 250 from imdb or letterboxd or criticer or RYM etc but I could barely find any good movies to watch after scouring through it.....I found Training Day, A Man Called Ove, and some Susan Sarandon movie with a 7.5 on imdb and that was pretty much it.

Anyone got anything interesting to recommend on Netflix? I can download Netflix shows to my tablet and watch them on the train...the only problem is I don't know what to watch

What is Netflix's obsession with making shitty high-school/teen movies and TV? There's another one now (Sierra Burgess is a loser).

Make a f***ing Manchester By The Sea type film like Amazon Prime did you have the budget stop making niche bullshit.
