As expected Beaulieu resigns.

yeah I'm not super excited about 2 years, but whatever, it's a minor signing

1.25M is not much over the minimum. Beaulieu has been bad at times, good at times. At best he is a solid 3rd pair and serviceable 2nd pair D.

And BAM! just like that, a D signing that takes us over the top.

Has won some fights, decent flow, better than Sbisa/Bitetto. Not sure we needed 2 more years, tho. Especially since PoMo will play him whenever possible.

Im fine with it. I like him as a depth/bottom pair guy. And if Samberg, or Heinola look too strong at camp to send down, he can also easily be the #7 press box guy. Make no mistake this team still needs another dman today if they are serious about trying to be contenders. Don't think it will be a top pair guy but a #3/4 and i think we are set

I have a hunch that the Jets are more comfortable with Samberg as a 2 LD than many fans are...

Morrissey-DeMelo
Samberg-Pionk
Beaulieu-Poolman

It's not great, but it's better than last season and the Jets keep their powder dry in terms of assets and cap space for 2021/22 and beyond.

Now just sign Hamonic or the best UFA defensemen available at $4 million & Chevy's entire checklist for today is complete.

I like Frenchy, but with a year left on his contract unloading his $4.125 deal & adding that to the present $3+ million in cap space might allow the team to take a run at Pietrangelo.
