Last guy that Oiler fans ran out of town is now a good #3 on the Canadiens. So chalk up Yak to be a 25 goal scorer

Nail Yakupov doesn't stick in big minutes or scoring lines because he is completely useless. He's not completely useless because he doesn't stick in big minutes or scoring lines.

He's played SO MANY MINUTES with better players than himself and generated nothing. He has the least amount of hockey sense possible. Matt Hendricks generates more scoring chances from the fourth line than Nail Yakupov does anywhere on the roster.

Being completely carried in small samples by better hockey players for 40 games doesn't excuse 200+ games of completely worthlessness.

He has 6 goals this year. 6. Mark Letestu - the guy that every Yak fanboy uses as a crutch for his poor play is outscoring him.

When he has played in the top 6 and on the PP, his production has continued to be average at the very, very best.

Comparing him in any way, shape or form to Hall, Eberle, Draisatil, RNH, etc is ridiculous. These guys produce. Yakupov doesn't.

Yes, Yak actually plays hard.

Wunderkids get another free ride.

How long till Oiler fans figure out the WunderKids are an issue

Lets all go back to watching Eberle dog it in the top 6 and put in zero effort. THATS Oilers hockey

Effort and hustle? nah

Except Eberle has consistently and drastically out produced Yakupov in the top 6 and on the PP at every stage of their respective careers.

Yakupov has 6 goals this year. Eberle has that in his last couple of games. It isn't even close.

There is no comparison between Eberle and Yakupov. None.

For all of his faults, Eberle produces every year.

Yakupov -- despite the likeable personality and constant hustle -- was politely summarized by Ray Ferraro's "being chased by bees" image.

Producing on a line with McDavid at a higher rate than any other winger McDavids played with is exactly generating offense

Yes. The guys with 20+ goals are the issue.

The guy with 6 goals is the real savior.

Eberle was tied at the hip to McDavid the second McDavid returned. And stayed there even when he sucked. Yak was unquestionably a better linemate

Eberle scored as many goals in his first game with McDavid as Yakupov did in 10.

Making 6M, doing nothing

Lets all blame the kid making nothing and giving it his all.

This is Oiler fan MO. Every year. Every single year its the exact same.

Blame some inconsequential player. But ignore the elephant in the room

Yakupov has "effort and hustle". Generates no scoring chances at all and is the biggest blackhole defensively.

Why don't we just suit up Joey Moss. I'm sure he'll hustle, too.

What exactly does Eberle produce?

A sphincter produces.

Kid Clutch really helping us win all these one goal games, eh? Eberle has been better since the reset....but still aggravating.

Before that Eberle's points were useless because he was a black hole of possession and worthless when pressured at either end of the ice.

Yakupov is an issue, doesn't put up points and bleeds goals against with his career minus 88.

Im sure it doesnt have anything to do with playing in worst bottom 6 in NHL (by a long shot)

Put wunderboy Eberle thru and watch him wilt

Oilers completely fail another prospect. What a joke of a franchise

You're right - Yakupov is completely inconsequential.

I'm in favour of trading Eberle for defence. I think he's too easy to defend on the wall. He's still weak defensively.

That being said - Nail Yakpov has not come close to even carrying Eberle's jock strap at any single point in his career here.

Frig you just know Leafs are going to trade for him and hes going to break out in a proper environment

Anyway, good for him. He deserves a proper environment. Not the filth and sewage that is the Oilers franchise. Good thing he escaped while still saveable

Except every time he was in top 6... and looked better than Eberle is many games..

Yakupov is Eberle less the production while being even worse defensively and more difficult for teammates to play with.

"A proper environment" "the Toronto Maple Leafs".

Ok, then.

I agree except I think Yakupov is much better keeping the puck in the zone offensively. Like....eleventythousand times better.

He knows how to keep plays alive....he just can't finish....or play defense.

If a team finds a top 6 spot for him on a team that is just trying to control possession he will probably stick.
