i'd only do that if Byram would be on board... he won't...

Puljujarvi's double hip surgery is a pretty big concern to me...

i'm also still a big Drouin believer, but yeah can he do it in Montreal with all the constant hatred comments. big question.

The value must be there because i feel wierd about it

Montreal wont trade Drouin, they have such a hard on for French players. From Edmonton, I'd say yes. Drouin isnt a guy I covet however getting rid of a few problems is the main value here.

Montreal isn't going to trade Drouin and they aren't going to eat Lucic's salary.

Nor will they agree to maintain Lucic's NMC status, as there is NO WAY Lucic accepts a trade to ANY TEAM that would waive his NMC. He knows way too much that has soon as he does that, he's riding buses in the AHL.

AND that costs us TWO protection sport to Seattle as both Lucic AND Bustjarvi ned to be protected, considering Domi-Gally-KK need protection too, that doesn't need a whole lot left for our other forwards. Losing a guy like Lehkhonen to Seattle for nothing because we got a worst player in Lucic would be bad

what ?, MTL is top 10 youngest team in the league.... Weber is getting older, look at Chara. Price is getting older, look at Lou.. We have Primeau coming and Brook/romanov to replace Weber in time.

Stop with the "older core" you clearly have no clue

yes because chara and luongo are the norm

you cant just think they will continue to be effective as they age like two rare cases. price is 32 next season and weber will be 34. those arent players you easily replace so having young depth doesnt help there.

you have no clue.

and fyi every team has prospects.

To be fair, Montreal did ice the 2nd youngest roster in the league this year. (Youngest one being the Oilers). So your assessment is slightly off.

Drouin's value is low compared to what it could be - why sell low?
Keep him, hope he becomes consistent.

Take out "Bustujarvi" and I'd do it with the hopes the Oilers could flip Drouin for a 40 point two-way winger for RNH's line

To be fair, Montreal did ice the 2nd youngest roster in the league this year. (Youngest one being the Oilers). So your assessment is slightly off.

2 Mtl goalies are 66 yrs old total, 6 dmen 165 and 12 fwds 305.
Habs were 536 yrs old.
Price, Niemi 66
Weber, Petry, Benn, Kulak, Mete, Folin 165
Drouin, Domi, Kotk, Tatar, Danault, Gallagher
Byron, Lekkhonen, Armia, Weal, Shaw, Thompson 305

Hockey db numbers

Phila numbers 53 + 140 + 305: 498

Mtl 6 (30+ players) and 6 guys (24 and younger)
Phi 2 and 9.
Mtl avg 26.8 vs Phila 24.8
Not sure where this 2nd youngest lineup comes from.
Using opening night roster?

I dont know the Edm real lineup so not sure about their total.

This looks like a really good deal to me from an Edmonton perspective, so good that I expect Montreal wouldn't be interested.

But then my opinion on Puljujarvi is that he's a nothing asset.

0% chance looch waives his ntc to come to mtl but IF he did..

Poolparty and 8oa still not enough imo

Maybe (big maybe) i consider Looch, Poolparty, 8oa for Hudon+ Alzner if i'm MB but def not giving back any more value than that. And that's only if we plan on tanking next 4 years, which i don't see happening at all.

I know it sucks oil fans but face it, you have a 6m dollar ahl player who cant be sent down for 4 years and cant really be bought out and must be protected in expansion.

You're screwed. Pray for amnesty buyout in the next cba.

You want Droin? the price is Klefbom or Nurse straight up. top 6 winger for top 4 D. And honestly, given Droin's high end potential, i find even that highly doubtful that MB goes for it. He'd prob score 80-90 points first year playing w McDavid and Draisaitl.

Look at the stats, look at the contracts, look at the comparables: those things matter.

The opinions of the extremely vocal, tiny minority, of habs fans who are angry anglo's and get off on crapping all over frenchmen whose faces displease them mean absolutely nothing. The "eye-test" of these armchair gm's is totally biased and of no consideration whatsoever in determining player value. "Oh he had a crap last 25 games.." oh yeah? how we're skinners last 25? see what kinda contract he gets then talk to me.

Anyways i don't even understand why edm would move a high pick. Because your worried Mcjesus will ask for a trade? LMAO Hes under contract at the highest aav ever in league history for 7 more seasons. 7! No way in hell he's so damn entitled he thinks his legacy as a player in his 20's is more important than honoring that contract. Oilers should draft D and wingers and keep tanking for another couple years until they get new management and a reliable top 15 in the league goalie, and hopefully get out of Lucic contract through amnesty buyout. Oil are WAY behind habs in terms of becoming contenders short term.

proposal:

Klefbom for 15oa, 46oa, Fleury

I don't know where you'd get that kind of defenseman for Drouin. That really isn't a fair deal for Edmonton.

Secondly, and I can't stress this enough, stating that he'd score 80-90 points with McDavid which is nearly double what Drouin has ever scored in the NHL is nonsense. It holds no value whatsoever. None.

Drouin has talent, that is undeniable. His mental game is what I am concerned about, and as such his commitment to the game.

no but thats the core right now. the top dman and top goalie are getting old and there arent really replacements for them.

i know the prospect pool for montreal, yes. there are good prospects there but not some elite crop of future stars.

This basically breaks down as;

Lucic + PoolP = Conditional 3rd

Drouin = 8th OA

Pretty even. Might favour the Habs a touch IMO because I'm not a huge fan of Drouin.

and there arent really replacements for them.

do you purposely ignore facts ?

Price ---------> primeau will be our starter when price stops ( let's say at 38) primeau is already seen as a elite starter, just need 3-4 years of preparation, also price is only 31... if Primeau in your head is not "elite" you don't know jack **** and don't watch MTL

Weber... he is not price, we have Romanov and Brook, Yes brook is seen as high as weber ( different style) but Brook is seen as his replacement.

Stop talking for Montreal, you have ZERO clue of the ages, prospects and capacity of our players.
One thing MTL is doing well is forming the replacement for Price and Weber in 5+ years, or might be in 10 years.. so calm down.
