When talking about the Norris . . . it's going to be tough to win it, I think, because it's a reputation based award combined with the point totals of the season. Unless he blows by Burns totake the outright points lead by defencemen, I think he might lose to Burns by a smidge, just because it's his first "big year". I think Rielly would have to follow it up with a second season like this one to suddenly become a front-runner.
I have to think that at this point . . . it's Burns leading the voting, with Rielly and Giordano close behind.
Burns - 70gp - 13g - 60a - 73pts (1.04 pts/G, 5 GWG, 1g 4a SH, TOI/G 24:56)
Rielly - 70gp - 19g - 48a - 67pts (+30, 5 GWG, 2OTG, leader in ES points)
Giordano - 68gp - 14g - 51a - 65pts (+29, 3g 1a SH, TOI/G 24:33)
That being said, I think that Rielly really should be the front-runner at this point, and Giordano should also be right there. Who knows, it could really be a very close three horse race at the end . . . a great finish to the season would go a long way.
