Well then who? You're the one who keeps advocating for him fired. Fire Sutter, Hire ___________ ___________?

Would’ve wanted Boudreau (he’s the guy I wanted when ward was fired), but he’s off the market. Can’t really give you an alternative, but someone who is willing to give some of the younger guys a shot, hold the vets accountable, and recognize when his starter isn’t in it instead of trying to get him to “play out of it”. Ik that’s a lot to ask, but the product on the ice at the moment is pretty pathetic.

I am not advocating for Sutter to be fired like everyone else on this board. TBH the negativity here is pathetic. Starting to sound like Canucks fans circa 2010 when every game lost was "Trade everyone we are garbage"

If Sutter were to be replaced tho, the only name I personally would want would be Trotz. Same type of defence first coach as Sutter, but has modified his game to stay relevant. Prolly would play some kids as well.

Is there alot to be desired so far from this team? Yes. Is Sutter still figuring out his new players as well? Probably.

People here need to be more patient. Kinda makes me not want to post, and gets me a little pissed off with all the negativity. Not a good look for the fanbase as a whole when 20 games into the season everyone calling for the head of the Jack Adams winner from last season.

Fair enough. Personally think Boudreau is about as mid as it gets but to each their own. Might even soon be on the market again because the Canucks are a giant circus. Trotz has stated he's pretty over coaching unless he falls into an Original 6 team that are contending for the Cup. He's not a coach that gives young players much rope either.

As far as the other qualities, well not sure that guy actually exists. These are standard complaints of just about every fanbase on this website. I don't disagree that the coaching could be better, I'm just of the opinion it's not the problem. The goaltending blowing ass and the forwards being incapable of scoring are the bigger issues. The defense has really been fine for the most part other than being offensively inept(save Ras). The roster is simply not good enough but hardly anyone in the top 9 has played up to their capabilities this season other than maybe Backlund, Ruzicka, and Toffoli. At some point you can't keep pointing the finger at the coach and start putting it on these players to regularly contribute.

Roster's honestly not that bad; Sutter's holding it back and it's obvious to see. He panicked badly after the loss to the Oilers and has them playing this passive chickenshit dump-n-chase ring-it-around-the-boards watching-paint-dry-is-literally-more-entertaining style of hockey because he's desperate and reacting poorly to what happened over the summer.

And this godawful "hockey" works to a degree when you have an elite defensive team with an elite goalie but the Flames have neither. And for whatever reason, Sutter is now incapable to adapting or changing styles or doing anything a normal head coach would do, like bench a horribly performing player like Lucic who won't even get an NHL one way contract next year. Or give legit NHL talent from the farm a chance.

Both Huberdeau and Kadri are legit game breaking talent as they've shown many times over their careers and will do so again when Sutter's gone back to farm hopefully never to be heard from again. The creative talent on this team is being stifled and idiots watching them win the corsi battles think it's because they lack talent. Jesus, all the passive and weak perimeter shots in the world aren't going to win a cup but they'll sure win you a lot of fancy stat sheets.

Just saying, why is Weegar almost never carrying the puck anymore? It’s not as if he wasn’t capable just a few months ago or early in the season.

20 games into the season where everyone has a new linemate from last year = better fire Sutter.

Do people not remember when Sutter came in half way through 2 years ago, team still didn't make the playoffs, then the next year they tore it up.

Flames destroyed the Panthers 6-2 and lost to the Habs where they outshot them 2 to 1, basically losing because Markstrom. I'm not worried. I'd rather a team beat good teams and lose to bad teams where they outplay them, then lose to bad teams, but can only beat bad teams. This team as of now is not consistent to do both. But at least this team has proven it can stick with any team in the league, Flames have beaten a lot of good teams this year even though their record sucks.

Yeah, what Darryl has done to Weegar so far is exactly what his equally idiotic brother Brent did to Bouwmeester all those years ago

Took a solid top pairing two way defensemen, suffocated all the offensive out of him turning him into an overpaid defensive specialist

Wish I could agree, but Huberdeau looks closer to Tanguay 2.0 than to gamebreaking talent, and Kadri got his Cup, got his retirement contract so why would he bust his ass? Sure when goals will come easy he'll take them but the hunger to battle in the trenches isnt there. Why would it.

As much as I dislike his personnel choices I really don't think it's a Sutter issue. The Flames have a team of good players with no game breakers, they're also on the slower end and lack puck carriers.

This is the result of that. None of the lines have any chemistry because they only have the components for like 2 good lines and the rest is a bunch of guys who play the same way making each other redundant. Even the "good" lines are just good not great. The defense is good but have a tendency for break downs and the whole teams lack of speed leads to any counter-attack we have being neutered.

Add our horrific goaltending to that and we're pretty much a better version of last year's Seattle Kraken.
