i'm off to be bed soon, i'll take a look at the roster posts tomorrow and if they are good, will link them in post #2.

we are still missing 5 GMs which is too much, maybe 1 or 2 we could manage on an auto-mock. i haven't gotten responses from some posters i've contacted so we might get few more but if you know posters who could like this, please PM me.

also when we figure out who gets expansion teams opens up two more teams. we could do it later this week so we know exactly which teams need GMs and could go ask from specific sub-forums if there are people who would like join. and then get this thing started early next week.

EDIT. does anyone who isn't running for expansion team like to volunteer to run the lottery for expansion GM nominees?

nice, rangers and kings need a GM, we need someone (anyone??) to run the expansion team lottery (which will be so easy it's stupid) and then find GMs for those two openings and we're set to start.

I can run a simulator for the lottery.

each nominee gets one, own number. from 1 to 5. you can decide who gets which number, it really doesn't matter. then you click this link. nominee whose number is the same as the above number in the link, gets the #4 ovr picking expansion team. nominee who has the below number gets the other expansion team. if both numbers in the link are same, click 'again'.

then come back here with the results.

The city of Anchorage, Alaska is extremely happy to announce that today after many months of negotiations, hard work, campaigning, and sheer determination we have finally secured a deal for a brand new Hockey arena. This arena will be a state of the art design, featuring a high level fitness training center, an underground parking garage to meet the demands of the arena, and seating for more then 19,000 of our cities greatest fans. Construction of the Arena has already begun, with the expectation that the Arena will be ready for use by November of 2017.

With the announcement of the new arena, it is also with great pleasure that I announce today that the NHL and the City of Anchorage will be coming together, with an official expansion team into the great state of Alaska. The 32nd team of the National Hockey League.

The team will be known as the Anchorage Auroras.

It took a lot of dedication from our fans here in Anchorage to make this dream a reality. But after years of trying, we've finally brought hockey to the True North. And we couldn't be more excited to get this new season underway.

first of all, good to see so many have gotten to work already even though we won't start until next week.

i'll have the full draft pick list done by next monday. might be easier to list the # of pick, instead of 'teams 3rd' but that's up to you.

here's a list of what is missing from roster posts (doesn't include stuff that clearly hasn't been added, is 'pending' etc). i'll get to expansion stuff little later unless i noted some clear error. every team was also missing # of contracts so they aren't mentioned specifically.

buffalo: NHL roster, sabres also get 2nd and 3rd round compensation picks (minny, caps)
carolina: derek ryan is UFA, can't be protected, also gets those compensation picks 2nd (NYR) and couple of 3rds (hawks, devils).
detroit: total cap, draft picks owned.
edmonton: maybe add ethan bear and caleb jones on players rights owned. also, pakarinen isn't exempt from the expansion draft.
philly: not all players under contract/rights owned are listed. philly also gets 2 3rd compensation picks (arizona and boston).
san jose: not all players under contract/rights owned are listed.
vancouver: we don't have 7th rounders in this mock, full prospect list should be here. tryamkin's draft year was in 2012, so he's not exempt from the expansion draft, has 4 pro years.

also, expansion team A will be now on known as Las Vegas O'Briens.

Do we need to list everyone? No one is going to care about some of my lesser prospects probably. And I just noticed the compensatory section, so we're trading 2017 picks in this game? Last time I played this we elected no future picks.

Do you have the draft order somewhere? Wasn't sure what the order would be since the season didn't end yet.

well yeah, maybe we don't need to list some late round picks who haven't progressed and aren't under contract. but those who are under contract need to be listed so we can check that teams stay under 50 contract limit.

they aren't technically 2017 picks in this mock, they'll be added to this years draft.

we didn't have them earlier but since some teams might have wanted to trade for those picks instead of 2016 picks, we decided to give a little compensation for those teams.

Do you have the draft order somewhere? Wasn't sure what the order would be since the season didn't end yet.

as i said in that post, i'll have it up by next monday, save for the lottery picks which will be decided in the draft lottery, saturday 16th.

ducks need to add the contracts of sarault, megna, gagne, cramarossa, gernat, bailey, gase, helgesen, tropp, o'brien, tropp, tokarski, kossila and boyle... i think. though if they won't sign/qualify those who are RFAs of that group, can probably be left out. but some are under contract for next season and have to be there.

ducks also need to sign kevin roy or he will be UFA.

added some roster post links to post #2 that are close enough. everyone is missing something so there are some notes there on what to work on.

if one is 100% sure on who they'll protect in the expansion draft, notify me or post something like 'final expansion list' in your roster post and i'll add it to the expansion post. final decision doesn't have to be made for a week so no need to rush though. we still need GMs for at least jets and the isles (again, please PM if you know some good cancidates who could join).
