This Tatis Jr stuff.......

This sport is so awful. I've never seen something where the powers that be try their best to make it suck more

It's just too funny that a hitter has to apologize for a pitcher going behind 3-0 in the count and then throwing an easy pitch into the box.

Maybe...I dunno...pitch better? Also, who cares that it was 10-3. Teams putting up 7+ runs in an inning are not exactly rare...

Exactly.

imagine if he didn’t run out a GB in that same spot though? Game wouldn’t have been over then, would it?

Really funny that the Rangers are the ones bitching and moaning about hitters trying to hit in a "blow out" when the very same franchise destroyed the Orioles 30-3 in 2007 in the first game of a doubleheader, with 16 of those coming in the 8th/9th when the score was already 14-3.

This is like when AV complained about Montreal putting out their top PP unit the other day in a blowout game.

If Tatis hit a weak grounder and half-assed a jog to first because "they had a 7 run lead" he would have gotten shit for not trying hard enough lol

If you don't want guys swinging on 3-0 and hitting a ball to pluto, don't groove pitches on 3-0.
Baseball has some of the stupidest "unwritten rules" it's embarrassing. If I were a pitcher and grooved a 3-0 pitch I'd be angry at one person and one person only no matter what the batter did--me.

Pretty much.

Or he takes the 3-0 pitch, then the pitcher throws something good to put the count at 3-2, then Tatis hits right to the SS who turns the double play and the inning is over.

Swinging at 3-0 gives you a chance, and it worked.

Yup. And this particular instance really takes the cake. It's absolutely insane Tatis had to apologize for hitting a grand slam.

Don't say anything at all
The Yankees are 16 and 6.

If they continue playing as well as they have been during their winning streak they could get at least 46 wins.

46 wins equates to a .767 win pct.

That would break the modern era record set by the 1906 Cubs, .763.

I mean it's a third of a season basically. The 2017 Dodgers went 51-9 over one stretch.

I posted this 45 minutes ago in the Lafreniere thread. LOL.

"Rosario has really been ass. Not that Gimenez has set the world on fire at the dish, but he's definitely shown the glove. Rosario should be worried.

EDIT: And he homers as I type this."

If Cespedes didn’t think quit we prob wouldn’t have seen Smith full time all season. So thanks for that.
That's the first thing I thought of when Cespedes opted out (that and the NL having the DH). Smith has been a really good soldier for the Mets and kind of had a rough start at the beginning under Collins but he's been great this year. Seems to be great on the bench/in the clubhouse too.

Mets starting pitching staff is DeGrom and then TBD.

Mets Probable Pitchers

I hope they let some of their rookies get a few starts.

Porcello basically just throws batting practice.
Well they had Petersen out there but now he's on the IL. They should give Kilome another look, for sure. Other than that I guess it's really just Szapucki at this point, as I wouldn't think they'd go to someone like Allan already. I guess Jurado is still sort of a prospect but he generally sucks.
