Bird has more power than Johnson while Johnson was superior at everything else. Johnson had elite plate discipline. Bird's injuries is where Johnson comparison starts and ends.

They can't outbid teams for Otani. He'll get to choose his destination and everything I've read points to the Yankees or the Dodgers.

Hopefully it ends better than the Moncada scenario.

Opting to give Stephen Drew that contract.

lol if you think Stephen Drew had anything to do with not getting Moncada.

Ellsbury has quietly started to put together a somewhat quality season. Obviously well below his expectations, but he's been playing better of late.

Garcia lifted one out away from a win.

I know wins are meaningless analytically, but the boys still want them, I think it's rude on Girardi's part.

It wouldn't have been an issue if he was laboring but he was actually pitching pretty well today.

Girardi is going to burn out the pen if he keeps on doing this. I know Gray gave them a CG yesterday, but that doesn't mean that he has free reign to do what ever the **** he wants for the rest of the season.

Also, 21 in a row for Cleveland.

Indians look scary right now, but I wonder if they're almost peaking too early?

That being said, even if they slow down (which they almost likely will), they're still a very talented team who's a WS favorite.
