That's a pretty good comparison, but Bird definitely has more talent than Johnson did.

Don't know if that's true. Johnson was pretty talented, and put up a few very good seasons before he missed that full year with the broken leg.

Johnson was really highly-regarded. His MiLB numbers were very comparable to Bird's. Johnson was gonna be a really good player before the injuries ruined him.

Nick Johnson was a top 10 prospect according to a few publications at one point in time. He was an exceptional pure hitter. If he stayed healthy, he would have been a monster.

Bird is/was good, but not on that level.

Johnson was set for a .400 OBP career before his retiring stint with the O's. That would've put him in exclusive company.

He was a poor man's Votto tbh.

cleveland was 20 games behind the dodgers when the streak started. they are now 3 1/2 back. 16 1/2 games in like 20 days
