olney and law talked about it today on olney's podcast.

the orioles are in a spot now because their window is still open but only just. they seemingly have about three years before everything comes to a head. machado, jones, duquette, showalter, etc. have three years left. their system isn't great and they need to restock but they desperately need to contend to get the most out of machado.

i agree with what law says which is essentially: if there weren't draft picks tied to fowler and gallardo they're not terrible players to add to a team looking to compete. the problem is the orioles losing 14, 29 and the money from their pool that they need, badly.
