I like Ferland a lot. Wouldn’t trade for him pre-free agency, but would definitely like to sign him as a UFA this summer.

Forget Edmonton, they want a young forward with term, that's basically TK or Lindblom.
Simmonds doesn't make sense for them, but a good fit for Toronto or Tampa Bay who want a rental but can't afford an extension in any case.
And Boston if they want one more shot before they reload.

Boston fans have been saying they NEED a #2RW to play beside Krejci and Debrusk. Just based on need, that seems to be more likely. But I do think they go after Stone first and have a lot of cheap guys that Ottawa could like.

They have 44 million already with only 13 guys signed. So 9 guys to sign and 16 million to reach the floor. It won't be an issue for them. But just look at the waste of money:

Condon: 1.35 Million-Buried
Gaborik $4.875 million-hurt long term
MacArthur: $4.65 million-hurt long term
Ryan: $7.25 million
