It will be a big season for him. MDZ really started to turn the corner as more of an overall defender. Shame the injury happened.

Lol...since both Leafs fans and NJ fans were getting upset by losing in the vs Schenn polls, I decided to pit them against one another and created a Kadri vs Palmieri poll. And of course made sure to mention them both getting smoked in the Schenn polls.

But it will be interesting to see who wins. Likely Kadri....lots more Leaf fans to sway the votes.

Well the Devils fan who keeps posting in the Palmieri/Schenn thread that kept bringing up Giroux being Schenn's linemate doesn't have anything to say in a Kadri/Palmieri poll so it'll be interesting to see what he comes up with for that one lol

It's all very Holmgren. It's not like DeKeyser is a bad player, rather that the mess keeps compounding itself.

I actually like DeKeyser. It's just a little too rich for my liking. Detroit really had no leverage here which can still be attributed to Holland. They really don't have much on the way on the backend youth wise & some guys they have now are getting older (Kronwall looks like a shell of himself now a days).

I like DeKeyser quite a bit too. It's just fitting the pattern. I mean look at this list. Numbers are slightly rounded.

  • 35 year old Zetterberg at 5/30.5
  • 32 year old Nielsen at 6/31.5
  • 29 year old Abelkader at 7/30
  • 36 year old Franzen at 4/16
  • 29 year old Helm at 5/19
  • 35 year old Kronwall at 3/14
  • 32 year old Ericsson at 4/17
  • 32 year old Howard at 3/16

It's absurd. It might be worse than Holmgren ever did. Think of the scope that covers.

30 year old Weiss 5/24.5

2015-16 $1,666,667 $1,066,667
2016-17 $1,666,667 $1,066,667
2017-18 $1,666,667 $2,566,667
2018-19 $1,666,667 $1,666,667
2019-20 $1,666,667 $1,666,667
2020-21 $1,666,667 $1,666,667

They bought his contract out after two years that's the salary/caphit breakdown numbers on the cost of that.

36 year old Datsyuk at 3/22.5

I omitted Datsyuk because they managed to move his hold, but I completely forgot about Weiss. Good lord.

Wings now 4.4MM over cap, they have LTIR options, but that can be very difficult to manage throughout the season.
