JFC is Montreal that good or did the Leafs and the Jets just blow it entirely?
Somebody had to come out of that shit division, and Montreal got hot at the right time, so here we are.
I don't think the Habs are that good, but they are very opportunistic and got hot at the right time. The Canadian division was extremely weak and the Habs looked like the only team that had any defensive structure. Yet they likely don't even make the playoffs the past 2 seasons under regulars circumstance. They have Price in net though and he can steal a series. Toronto's big guns didn't even show up, which they never do, and WPG looked like a mess.
They play the winner of the Avs/Knights series, and my gut tells me either of those teams should easily beat the Habs, but the hockey world hates me, so who knows what happens?
So Montreal clinched 2 series in 8 days.....We have 1 in 9 years.
This post is rude and offensive and should be taken down immediately.
That's cause Flyers management don't have the guts to give 7 years to Josh Anderson and trade Subban for Weber and Sergachev or Drouin.
The North Division is an abomination. It was concocted to get the Leafs a bye to the Final Four and they couldn't even do that so someone had to make it.
They're fodder for the Avs or Golden Knights.
Grubauer or Fleury better show up in that series against Montreal. Otherwise there could be a rude awakening for their teams.
Could you imagine the carnage if a team's goaltender didn't even show up?
When you're averaging 2.55 goals a game, you're being carried by your goalie.
Yeah, but have you considered what three defensemen could do?
If you are being carried by your goalie, and your goalie doesn't show up, and you fall, but there's no goalie there to hear it, will it make a sound?
It depends whether or not they understand what the "defense" in "defensemen" means. Three Ristos? Three Joneses? Three Troubas? Hells yes.
When a goalie stands on their head, how does it affect their hearing?
We beat them last year though so we're pretty much rightfully the lineal Canada champ.
In 7 games, Gus has not been on the ice for and goals against 5vs5(4-0)....and at all strengths is 8-1.
And has chipped in 1+2.
Well worth the 7th they paid.
That's likely to fall apart in the 3rd round, but they have gotten their money's worth so far.
and he was completely useless here...
or maybe our coaches had no idea how to use him?
Gonna lean towards the latter
Was he though?
He had 10 pts in 24 games...a 34 pt pace/82 games. That's not useless.
He was overpaid and should have been the #7Dman...not seen as a possible Niskanen and Ghost replacement.
But he didn't know what he was doing in his own zone here
Just a reminder that the Habs had the 18th most points in the NHL and 10th most in the East (1 more than the Flyers).
Aka they don't belong.
I mean, let's not act like he's been a difference maker at ES for them. He's averaging 10 minutes and 2 of his 3 points have been on the PP.
He's a solid PP weapon, as he was for us.
