Because he can get used to the NA game, and if he plays great, the Avs have the option of bringing him to the NHL mid-year. If he goes to Finland, we won't see him until next summer.
i think he plays on the 3rd line all season.

Very rare that a none top 3 player in the draft goes right into the NHL and stays there all season.
yes but its a deep draft he has already played with men ans was an A and we have a room on the 3rd line as a r wing
hope he goes to the A but is that ass clown coach from Cleveland still coaching the kids on the new farm? If so leave the boy in Finland
Rarely a good idea to rush a kid though. Better to find a guy in FA on a 1-2 year deal for his spot.
It only burns a year of his contract if he plays 10 NHL games. AHL wouldn't burn a year.Rather Rantanen plays in Finland than the A burning a year of his contract.
He has the body type to play in the NHL next year. When he gets to camp and plays some preseason games, we'll have a better idea of where he stands.
I won't be surprised if he gets 9 games to start, at least. I would really like to see him play in the AHL, and when he's interviewed in Denver on Monday, I hope someone asks him.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Cleveland CBJ's AHL affiliate now? What does this mean for us?

Our finnish members are responsible to finding information in Finland on if he plans to stay in SM-Liiga or play in the AHL.
hockey in FEL is fairly similar to NA hockey though. his teams home rink is also only about 6 feet wider than NA rinks.
Did he have a press conference?
