Probably. He still gets listed as a center some places, but has only played the wing with the Canucks.Am I thinking of Megna?

Keep actually had a better stint in the nhl than Chaput.I actually like Chaput more. A bit more size.
Kero is unlikely to be anything more than AHL journeyman anyway.
Stop trading with chicago
Sounds like a contract dump by Chicago. Chicago was already at 45 contracts with Jurco and Duclair still unsigned. I wouldn't be surprised if Chicago doesn't qualify Chaput.
Meanwhile Kero helps fill the hole at center in Utica.
Kero another former USHL player and U of Michigan forward...becoming something of a factory for the Canucks.
Vanilla. Hawks have been very concious about maintaining relationships among players. To me this feels like Kero didn't want to spend another year buried in Rockford so they're giving him a chance to latch on somewhere else.
The one clear advantage he has over Chaput is that he isn't yet a veteran by AHL standards.
We'll likely learn of some reason for this trade from a Canucks' perspective. I haven't figured it out.
Does Kero do any better filling the center hole than Chaput though? He doesn't provide as much scoring, either goal scoring or assists. He certainly doesn't fill the role of #1 playmaking center. He's small than Chaput. He doesn't provide grit (45 penalty minutes in 130 AHL games.)

He’s a AHL centre with some NHL experiences, it’s actually a huge need for us if he plays for Utica
