The Boston series and the Philly series have too many similarities to dismiss. Sid and Geno stopped playing quality hockey and started to get mixed up in the garbage right off the bat in both series. The only real difference is that we were in the Philly series because they were an awful team. Boston put us in our place like a legitimate contender should.
Both series were lost as soon as we stopped playing disciplined hockey. That's on the coach to reel the guys in and calm them down, and reinforce productive hockey. Were the players blameless? Absolutely not. But when guys get away from playing hockey and get into silly **** like that, it's one of the coach's main functions to bring them back.
