Poor Habs fans.
Expectation: Tavares and Carlson
Reality: Plekanec and Johnson

Can I play too?
Expectation: Trade Weber for William Nylander+
Reality: Habs are stuck with Weber's contract forever
Good luck with that.https://www.tsn.ca/radio/montreal-690/mckenzie-is-jack-johnson-on-the-habs-radar-1.1109091

He would be an interesting option on a 1 year deal. He's coming off of a disappointing contract year and the opportunity to play next to Weber would give him an opportunity to get a 4 year deal next July that could be significantly larger than what one likely will be this off season. Overpay him on a 1 year deal and see if there is interest.
Gives the Habs some breathing room with Mete and the opportunity to flip him (Johnson) at the deadline to help next years draft if it works out.
That should go without needing to be said.I prefer Weber's contract to Price's contract to be honest.

Hell, even if he did play the whole thing out....it's still better than Price's contract.Weber won't play the last couple of seasons so his contract isn't that bad.
I agreeHell, even if he did play the whole thing out....it's still better than Price's contract.
For me, signing your franchise goalie long term isn't the issue....but no goalie is worth that money, just my opinion.I agree
Bergevin should't have waited to sign him or trade him at the deadline.
His value wouldn't be 10.5M/season after the season he had.
Bergevin had no problem giving Price (31 years old and injury prone) an 8 year contract but tried to only give 4 years to Radulov...

The guy is practically broke. Yes, he had a disappointing contract year but some team will offer him term and when that happens there's no chance he's going to gamble on a one year deal instead.
I mean he didn't even play a single minute in the playoffs this yearI won't bash on Johnson, would take him in TO for the right price, but he's at best a #4....
