Don't even want to think about the possibility of McDavid playing for the Leafs, players like him never wind up a Leaf. Even if the Leafs manages to lose every game for the rest of the season and wind up dead last in the standings, it is almost certain that the draft lottery would be won by another team. Chances are the Leafs don't catch Buffalo for last overall and even with reduced odds it's still a slim chance of Toronto winning the draft lottery, unless they finished 29th overall. Anything past that spot I can't see it happening.

I am usually an eternal optimist when it comes to the Leafs but they have just beaten me down so far that I can't help being pessimistic now.

He should go #1 but I could see an American team choosing Eichel instead purely from a marketing standpoint - American kid playing for an American team. I am not saying that will happen, but I wouldn't be entirely shocked if it did.
