Fazleyev just never progressed, and he wasn't talented enough to take PT away from other players who were progressing or AHL veterans who did more to help the team win.

I don't think people had outrageous expectations, most in this thread saw him as a bottom six, probably 4th line winger at best. But he got passed by, when players like MV can't get called up, and Leier and NAK get sent back down, his odds got really long.
