You're either missing the point or purposely avoiding it.
He hindered his own and his teammates success with his ego. That's a negative and surprise, surprise voters are holding it against him.

If that's the reasoning for TO not getting in this year then Moss should expect that he's not getting in on the first ballot either.
You'd think but it isn't and finding one article that may agree doesn't prove anything. If drops and route-running were as much of a concern as you make it out to be...so much to the point that overrides Owens having more yards and TD's...he wouldn't have been thrown to as much as he was. It's a soft argument at best.
How exactly did his ego hinder on field production? He hindered his own and his teammates success with his ego. That's a negative and surprise, surprise voters are holding it against him.

Eliminated a half season of it. Got him released to worse teams.
But there were always teams willing to take him, that's the thing.
He did do that, but he also helped every team he played for at least get to the playoffs and gave them a better chance to win. He didn't take his off field baggage onto it.I should rephrase that. He hurt a contending team by deciding they were somehow not reverent enough.

Again.... HOF is about what you do on the playing field and he was pretty good at that aspect. Who cares if he was a ******.
But he DIDN'T do some of that on the playing field and for childish reasons.
And we are talking about the Hall of Fame here, so he didn't get voted in ahead of a guy who did none of those things.
And Harrison has a hell of a resume too, so when looking at why the votes broke one way or the other it might not take much.
I can only speak for myself, but I would value what Harrison apparently did off the field more than Owens' consistent refractory behaviour.

Many of those records aren't particularly noteworthy and/or similar to other. And not only is that TDs against all 32 teams one both, it's also clearly unfair to Harrison.

These are all very noteworthy

But whatever, if they dont like how his irrelevant off-field behaviour was, so be it. they've been letting inferior players in before better ones forever.
I'm not quite sure, apparently.Well they're Hall voters what do you expect?
