I sincerely apologize to Whiskey7. MB is not just BargainBin but an idiot. Streit couldn't break into the roster of a team that was decimated.
Man this GM is a total moron. One step forward and three backward.
If Markov doesn't want to sign for a year, it is a good plan B.
Bergevin needs to be carefull now with new contracts kicking in for the 2018-19 season (Price, Danault...)
We already have 58M committed to only 15 players. So if the cap stays at 75M next year, we only have 17M to re-sign 8 players.
I loved Streit as a Hab, but that offer better has to be because we're getting Ryan Getzlaf or something that would otherwise prevent us from signing Andrei Markov.

How would you handle Markov if he is not willing to move from the 2 year demand? No way the Habs can give Markov a 2 year deal. Risks involved are huge.
Hehh... At this point in his career, Streit is a Plan Z.

Just to be sure. Is it the guy who only played 3 game in playoff in a team that has a lot of D injured?
The risk are not huge at all. It's 2 years. Sign him.
It's the same thing, Markov signs for a year or he goes. That's it.
Streit is almost Markov, more or less the same age, both are PP specialist.
Markov always has issues when he plays too much and he would never accept to be a 6th d on this team.

Yes they are. If Markov retires after this season, we lose that cap space for next season. A lot can happen in one season. Habs are 100% correct with offering Markov a one year deal.
I actually think for once Bergevin is doing the right thing here, it's 1 year at a time for Markov.
Wat?

Markov always has issues when he plays too much later in the year (fatigue?) and he would never accept to be a 6th d on this team.
