youre saying losing in 5 to Ottawa is considered success ???
See......i was right
youre saying losing in 5 to Ottawa is considered success ???
the work of MB got the Habs out of the PO 3 of the last 4 years... you're happy with it.I like you EC but you should stop right there, you're making a fool of yourself
I could go and try to explain to you how i can be as much as a fan than you and still be happy with the work of MB since he's here but all you would do is come back with funny one liner and no substance......i prefer to answer you the same way you usually answer posters
you're happy the work of this GM got the Habs out of the PO 3 of the last 4 seasons, you consider losing in the first round in 5 success...See......i was right
Is that not what you do when you keep hammering that he didnt made the playoff for 3 of the last 4 years.......ce qui est bon pour maman est bon pour papa aussi
You're so funny man, you cant even see how big you are proving my point there

No. Making the POs was his objective, he admitted it himself. So when people say he's missed the POs 3 out of 4 times they're pointing out the very obvious fact he's failed to reach his objective in the three of his last 4 years.
At the same time, pretty much everyone who points that out also have no problem saying he's had a good summer last year.
But for some of you...can't even admit the team success he's had early was made with a core he inherited.
You can like what he's done last summer and believe he's turned a new leaf. He's a changed man and you'd prefer sticking with an improved Bergevin than firing him possibly going through this whole process yet again. Sure, that would make sense. That's a weak, cop out, reply to a simple & direct post.
It's not complicated... You can't simultaneously be a "fan" of the work MB has done as GM AND be a fan that values performance.
Nothing wrong with being a fan of a team & having zero care for performance or success (I'm a 30yr bills fan, I get it...).
But you can't, rationally, claim to be a fan who wants the team to succeed AND be a fan of the current GM.
That's like claiming to be a socialist & supporting trump... Some things just don't logically fit together.
It's not really a debatable topic after 7 years of hard evidence.

But to argue that Bergevin's done a good job overall and you're a fan of him....that's seriously weird.
The only way you're doing this while still caring about this team is because you have a big ego and just don't want to admit to being wrong about this dufus, so you double down.
To do so, you'd havet to ignore his work as GM from Sept to Now...
His decision-making during the season has been very consistent with his tenure (insofar as making inconsistent roster decisions is a pattern, and waisting assets for no short or long term gain).
The one decent summer, punctuated largely by moves long called for & predicted by us average fans, really does not support any narrative of "turning a new leaf" or demonstrable learning & progression.
I hope, sincerely, to be proven wrong in the coming off-season... but with the available evidence, it seems foolish to expect anything more than the status quo... 1 large, highly dubious roster move, 1 or more wasted picks, and a roster full of unaddressed holes come game 1
At this point a mannequin would be acceptable.I've listened to enough of Damp House's takes on AC to know that he'd be a Reggie Houle if afforded a position of high responsibility like that of a GM.
Plus, if he's such a good candidate, why doesn't he do his classes like everyone else and go manage an AHL team rather than pontificate from a blue seat on AC.
The MB fanboys, who think we can't fire him, there is no one out there to take his place?? That's quite the stance...kinda explains what has happened to us 3 out of the last 4 years....of course , i don't buy your point of view so i missed the point . It such an easy game to discredit Bergevin , to blame him for everything and to repeat day after day that he should be fired . But what are the other options ? Of course , there should be better candidates somewhere in the world , but i hope you realize there are also a lot of worst options . Do you realize that you will be able to known if the one selected is better than Bergevin only after 3-4 years of his tenure ?
Who are the GMs that are way better than Bergevin in the NHL ? You should be able to name few of them, no ?
Anyway , i think i am done with this thread
You are right, in the end it's on him cuz he's the one in charge, should be the same when things goes well tho
Habs finish 4th, 9th, 2nd and 7th overall in 4 of those 7 years.....that should be on him too, but what we read from most here is either ''he won beceause of Price'' or ''he inherited a great core thats why''
So much for integrity
