Stars have a pure cap dump in Hanzal, a reclamation project in Nichushkin, and an overpaid 3rd liner in Comeau. Any of those guys appeal to Ottawa as buy low candidates? In Hanzal’s case there’d obviously be a prospect added, but nothing too crazy since he’s only under contract for a year.

IIRC he essentially has a career ending leg injury. Assuming he was insured and will go on IR then Hanzal + 2019 18 OA for 2019 32 OA + 2020 Dallas 2nd

Management wants to sign Ceci longer term and Eriksson is a bad contract.

Ryan is still a skilled forward and can play 1st or 2nd line. He brings some veteran leadership and will be helpful transitioning our high end rookies into playing in the NHL so would like to hold onto him for now. However, at the TDL we would do Eriksson for Ryan.
