Of all the prospect defensemen currently in the org, Johansson becomes the one who scores the most productive, points-wise. More than Cholo. More than Seider. More than McIsaac. More than Tuo or Lindstrom.
Wings finish next year on a 72-point pace.
Blashill finally fired.
The Seider pick, mostly loved today, will become controversial as fans realize he's really not a point producer and guys like Cozens and Zegras take off at the NHL level.

Nashville, Edmonton and Toronto are three teams I could see moving their 1st as part of a deal to dump salary.

The return would depend on who exactly they dump

Leafs: Don't have a high priced player who fits the bill as the kind of guy you dump and give away a first for.

Oilers: James Neal could get you that first.

Preds: Turris + 1st for maybe Filppula if they need him?
But do you want 4 years for Turris? Yeah, I know he had that chemistry with Mantha for a tournament...

Bertuzzi Larkin Zadina
Fabbri Turris Mantha

Maybe that looks OK for another 2 years. But what about Turris at 34 and 35?'

Maybe that's OK. Glendening is a UFA. Helm is a UFA. Nielson has one more year after this one. Dekeyser has one more year after this one.

Nashville picks 11th.
Oilers pick 14th.

I don't think people see Seider as a PMD/an offensive d-man. I think most people see him as a guy whose very good defensively and can put up some points, likely 2nd PP guy. Given the fact that Detroit's defensive corps are trash, they need that anchor.

Seider will get the team points by helping shut down the oppositions best players, giving us ~15+ pts in the regular season standings that we wouldn't have had otherwise w/o him. As far as personal pts., 20-25 rookie, 25-30 a few seasons, 35-40 peak, maybe 1-2 outliers of 40+.

The wings go another season or two without giving Larkin the C. Then somewhere in 21 or 22 Seider becomes our captain and Larkin ends up on the trade market.

We don't get the first overall pick in 2021 despite having the worst record in the NHL (again) and fall back another 3 to 4 spots in the lottery. Seattle gets the first overall. Another borderline playoff team ends up with a top 3 slot.
