Columbus becomes young and perspective, Colorado becomes big, tough defensively and better suited for playoffs.
Seems bad for the Avs
Makar is nominated for the Norris and Jones needs a new contract. I view Makar as by far the most valuable piece in the deal. How is it? I bet, they would have looked better vs Vegas with Jones and Werenski.
The cost to sign all 4 players will probably be the same, 7 or 8 years @ $8,500,000. And there are rumors that Werenski wants to stay close to home near Detroit. Pretty sure he doesn't want to play that far away from his family that he has close ties to.Columbus becomes young and perspective, Colorado becomes big, tough defensively and better suited for playoffs.
Columbus adds. And a lot, if for no other reason than team control.

Werenski want to remain close to Detroit, Noway is he going to sign long term with Colorado. Werenski and Jones will get as much as Makar possibly the same and with new deals for Landeskog and MacKinnon good luck with that. How is it? I bet, they would have looked better vs Vegas with Jones and Werenski.
I think Makar is better right now but that is my opinion. I wouldn't trade Makar for either.Seth Jones and Werenski are better right now and for next few years. Exactly what Colorado needs to win the cup.
Jones i can see signing with Colorado, Werenski fat chance for what i mentioned on the other two threads.Seth Jones and Werenski are better right now and for next few years. Exactly what Colorado needs to win the cup.
Why would Colorado be willing to sacrifice Makar? Keep him and they'll be a cup contender for years to come.... make this deal and they better win right now

I get the strong feeling that this deal was made with Colorado's needs or long term future not really in mind.
With long term future in mind Colorado should trade Mac for 2022 or 2023 1st OA...
Yeah 2 1D that combined will cost you between $17,000,000 to $18,000,000 per season for 7 or 8 years. And you have others to sign like Landeskog this year and MacKinnion within 2 years. If it were me i'd rather have both Makar and Byram over Jones and Werenski. But that's just me personally.Sacrifice is kinda weird word, when the team gets two 1D.
Wayne Gretzky's all time points record will be broken before Colorado trades Makar and wins the cup.
First off Werenski is a RFA for the next 2 years not 3 years. He becomes a UFA in 2023 and calling the AVs a perennial cup contender is pretty since they haven't won a cup in ages.Werenski is RFA for next 3 years. I bet, he'll like it to play on a perennial cup contender.
That’s why you bring in guys with playoff pedigrees like Jones and Werenski.Norris means nothing in playoffs. As Hart, Art Ross and everything, but Conn Smythe...
