The only reason people include him in trade ideas is because he was taken in the 6th round. If he had been taken in the 1st round he would also be untouchable.
I think Bratt is with Nico in damn near untouchable status (Nico is already untouchable).
No way I'd trade him right now. Maybe you consider it down the road in a few years if he can bring back the missing piece to a cup winner somehow, but he's only 20 and he could provide some really good production for a fairly cost controlled deal after next season and for peanuts next year if we're to be competitive.

Actually, without looking back at what was said, I don't think anyone is LOOKING to trade him. They're saying they WOULD trade him if it brought an over-payment to fill a massive hole (1LD). There's a difference.I don't think where he was drafted has anything to do with a vast minority looking to trade him. I think it has to do with the fact he's a Devil and the grass is always greener elsewhere for some people. Everyone this side of Nico (including Hall) has been thrown around in trades here and even Nico people were criticizing why some wouldn't take a hypothetical Petterson deal.
Top 20 scoring players from his draft class are below. It doesn't matter where he was picked, he's a top 10-15 player from his draft class in his D+3 season, and should be treated as such. His draft position is irrelevant at this point. What he is actually doing in the NHL at his age is what is relevant and why you don’t trade him.

Boy was he buzzing last night. I always try to be realistic but I might not be high enough on him. He's like Maurice Jones Drew with Chris Johnson speed in the ozone.
I take it you mean this amazing shift:Remember that awesome set-up for Greene that almost resulted in the go-ahead goal?
Bratt, when he has the puck, has terrific puck-possession and control. He led the Defenders on a wild-goose-chase in trying to get the puck from him but couldn't do it and then he turns that all into very-high-quality scoring chance for Greene.
Too bad Greene whiffed.
That was a thing of beauty. Would've been the Highlight of the game instead of the "Garbage time" Bratt-pass-to-Rooney.
I have been cautiously optimistic since he showed up to training camp last year and was blowing people away to the point where our veteran NHLers were specifically calling him out in interviews for how great he looked. When Bratt scored that goal on opening day against the Avs last year I didn’t think he pan out to actually be good. Just thought it was like a Rooney fluke goal or something
I had the honor of witnessing future Hall of Famer Jesper Bratt’s first goal in person. I think Butcher had like 3 points too. When Bratt scored that goal on opening day against the Avs last year I didn’t think he pan out to actually be good. Just thought it was like a Rooney fluke goal or something
I take it you mean this amazing shift:
I don't think Greene even expects that pass, Bratt threaded that pass through 3 Flyers and past 2 Devils to get it to Greene.Bingo.
That would've been *The* Goal of the game if Greene would've connected with the puck.
That was a sure tap-in goal that Andy just missed. I am sad.
It would've given the Devils a 3-2 lead and who knows what happens next?
Maybe Cory doesn't give up the lead again.....I think after he did, the air went out of the balloon for the Devils.
