If it's potentially libelous keep the gossip off the boards please.
No worries, I wasn't planning on divulging anything illicit, damning, or nefarious anyway as I haven't heard anything of that nature.

Not that I would anyway as I'm a big believer in no cameras at the afterhours.

Cheers.

Yea...I get it hockey players often aren't the most chiseled...

But WTF weight training is Zacha doing? C'mon man. Honestly explains why he gets bumped off the puck more often than he should for his size and rarely throws his weight around.

In season, I’m pretty certain players don’t do a lot of weight training. Most guys use the offseason for the intensive stuff, like Travis when he blew out his bicep pre-camp. The season is too long and grueling to be killing your body in the weight room as well. I’m sure they still need to some weight workouts, but it’s likely just for maintenance. I’m obviously not the most educated on fitness, and I’m sure someone could correct me if I’m wrong or verify that I’m somewhat correct. I recall a video of Danny Briere talking about how he would decrease his stick flex as the season went on because you lose strength from not hitting the weights hard during the season.

Also, again I’m no fitness expert, but I’m pretty sure a big part of achieving a six pack is by avoiding carbs and obviously being super fit. Athletes need their carbs and you’ll see many players who have some type of pasta as a pregame meal to have fuel.

I do agree Zacha could look more trim however.

A 6 pack is all based on a combination of cutting to low body fat, posing, and not holding excess salt and water. For example watch one of those videos of a super fit guy slapping what looks to be a fat gut to see it transform into a 6 pack like voila. What you eat doesn't matter much if it's not super salty. Neither does something like doing ab workouts. If you're lean enough your abs will just show, but most of the time when you see abs in a video or something the guy is flexing and they're using certain lighting. At 10% body fat your abs won't really pop. You've got to be absolutely shredded for abs to just pop whatever you do, think like 5% bodyfat. I'm probably at like 18% body fat right now, but if I suck my gut in, flex and take a pic in the right light it'll look like I have a mild 6 pack. On the flipside when I was very fit (around 10% bodyfat) if I would eat like shit and not flex I would look like a puffy teddy bear with a gut, and besides some very minor definition on my upper abs there was nothing at all.

Well come on now, Nico has 13 goals in 44 games, Bratt before today had 3 in 33. While the hot take of Bratt being a dissapointment cause he wasn't scoring goals was off base he really does need to pick up actual goalscoring and not be completely totally one-dimensional. Even Scott Gomez usually got 15-20 a year.

Right now, Bratt is on a 4-game Point-streak with a goal and 3 assists.

Is your take still valid?

If his focus is more of being a playmaker than goal-scorer(but he scores goals now and then), he's NOT being completely one-dimensional.

Bratt has taken some good steps forward this season. He's far more consistent. He hasn't had the flashy plays he had last season, but his production is up, and he's getting better at generating chances and driving play. Last year it seemed he was either getting buried and overwhelmed or just doing something epic. This season is missing some of the ridiculous sequences, but overall his play is better and he's been far more productive, even though he's been a bit snakebitten/unlucky with his shooting.

Bratt and Pavel Zacha in Puerto Rico??

This thread got really weird since you posted this .

I still question what one of the creators from South Park is doing with Bratt.

Also, I find it hilarious that anyone would think Bratt or the woman isn’t in shape based on this picture.

Over at the Devils Discussion thread, please stop this talk about dealing Bratt.

I would be most upset if he is dealt.

The return would have to be considerable for me to.....stomach this. :puppy:

My 'take' was response to you criticizing Nico for not scoring in a comparison when he's been scoring a ton more than Bratt. Bratt's played better lately but still five goals in 44 games isn't exactly a great total for a forward. He had eight goals in his last 62 games last season as well (after starting with 5 in his first 12). Near-term and for what his age is he's been fine. Long-term he's gotta actually produce a FEW more goals - at least mid-high teens per 82 games like Gomez. It's not really viable to have a small top six forward that can barely get to double digit goals scored in a season, if that. Yes that is one-dimensional offensively when you're an offensive forward with 13 goals in 106 games.

Last year Bratt averaged 1.35 shots per game and this year he is averaging 1.81 shots per game.

If Bratt was shooting the same 13% as last year instead of the 6.3% hes shooting this year then he would already have 10 goals this season.

This season is probably more encouraging for his goal scoring than last season. If Bratt kept doing this season over and over you would say he’s likely a 13 goal guy. He will keep improving, generating more shots, and once we know what kind of shooting percentage seems reasonable we can make a good estimate for him.

He looks, to me, like a guy that we will say is a 20 goal scorer, even if there are fluctuations. His shots, time on ice, and shooting percentage should all increase from this season.

Fair enough but I never look at single-season shooting percentage for two reasons - either it's going to even out long-term anyway or it's just indiciative of not having a good enough shot to score, that much will be obvious over time.

Bratt has hit like 2 or 3 posts in the last week. His shooting luck has been bad this year. 11 shots over the last 2 games is good to see as is 22 assists in 44 games.

Bratts gotta snipe too. With his play on the half board on the PP, I expect him to start converting on a few more half circle shots. Couldn’t be happier with his play over the past few games.

He has a sneaky nice one timer he doesn't break out very often. He unleashed a bomb against STL last season that was taken away due to offside. Plenty more room for goal scoring potential but I don't think anybody would complain with a Zuccarello type.

I would be ecstatic if he became a Zuccarello clone

So long as he doesn't start looking like Zuccarello in appearance, I'll allow it. :sarcasm:

Leave it to Cangy to ruin a Goal call and for Dano to double-down on the stupidity ("Duh...I think it's no-goal, Cangy...." ) o_Oo_Oo_Oo_O

That said, Bratt's got an underrated slapshot.

8 Points in the Last 8 games.

Way to go, Unicorn! :highclap:

I think Bratt is with Nico in damn near untouchable status (Nico is already untouchable).

No way I'd trade him right now. Maybe you consider it down the road in a few years if he can bring back the missing piece to a cup winner somehow, but he's only 20 and he could provide some really good production for a fairly cost controlled deal after next season.
