I think Bratt is with Nico in damn near untouchable status (Nico is already untouchable).

No way I'd trade him right now. Maybe you consider it down the road in a few years if he can bring back the missing piece to a cup winner somehow, but he's only 20 and he could provide some really good production for a fairly cost controlled deal after next season and for peanuts next year if we're to be competitive.

Never say never but short of a significant overpayment i can’t imagine any NJ fan would look to move him.

The only reason people include him in trade ideas is because he was taken in the 6th round. If he had been taken in the 1st round he would also be untouchable.

It's unreal how strong the Stereotype of being selected in the 6th round can be with some.

Kind of like how some view the 4th-line as if it's a line full of bruisers and energy guys.

Some people just refuse to believe that Good players can come from the 6th round and even when confronted with evidence, they still won't let go of that prejudice. :thumbd:

Did you say this with a straight face?

Have you FORGOTTEN our issues in Goal and Defense? :biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh::biglaugh:

I don't think where he was drafted has anything to do with a vast minority looking to trade him. I think it has to do with the fact he's a Devil and the grass is always greener elsewhere for some people. Everyone this side of Nico (including Hall) has been thrown around in trades here and even Nico people were criticizing why some wouldn't take a hypothetical Petterson deal.

Actually, without looking back at what was said, I don't think anyone is LOOKING to trade him. They're saying they WOULD trade him if it brought an over-payment to fill a massive hole (1LD). There's a difference.

I mean... I would think people would trade Nico too if it brought back McDavid (for example).

he’s not untouchable, but i wouldn’t move him unless it was part of a package that was a serious upgrade at C or D. i mean at the end of the day, he’s a winger, the least valuable position

His draft position is irrelevant at this point. What he is actually doing in the NHL at his age is what is relevant and why you don’t trade him.
Top 20 scoring players from his draft class are below. It doesn't matter where he was picked, he's a top 10-15 player from his draft class in his D+3 season, and should be treated as such.

There's definitely an aspect of 'let's trade this guy before he turns back into a 6th round pumpkin' to most of the trade suggestions.

Bratt has played 28 fewer games than last season right now and is only 5 points off his total from last season, 6 goals off his total, and has 1 more assist. He only has 17 fewer shots than last season, unfortunately his shooting percentage is much lower. He's currently playing at a 53 point pace over 82 games.

Looks like pretty good improvement to me.

Top under-21 producers in the NHL... Bratt would be higher if he played more, surely past Laine and Keller who were taken 150-160 spots earlier than him.

Boy was he buzzing last night. I always try to be realistic but I might not be high enough on him. He's like Maurice Jones Drew with Chris Johnson speed in the ozone.

Remember that awesome set-up for Greene that almost resulted in the go-ahead goal?

Bratt, when he has the puck, has terrific puck-possession and control. He led the Defenders on a wild-goose-chase in trying to get the puck from him but couldn't do it and then he turns that all into very-high-quality scoring chance for Greene.

Too bad Greene whiffed. :thumbd:

That was a thing of beauty. Would've been the Highlight of the game instead of the "Garbage time" Bratt-pass-to-Rooney.

When Bratt scored that goal on opening day against the Avs last year I didn’t think he pan out to actually be good. Just thought it was like a Rooney fluke goal or something

I have been cautiously optimistic since he showed up to training camp last year and was blowing people away to the point where our veteran NHLers were specifically calling him out in interviews for how great he looked.

Bingo. :thumbu::thumbu::thumbu::thumbu:

That would've been *The* Goal of the game if Greene would've connected with the puck.

That was a sure tap-in goal that Andy just missed. I am sad. :(

It would've given the Devils a 3-2 lead and who knows what happens next?

Maybe Cory doesn't give up the lead again.....I think after he did, the air went out of the balloon for the Devils.

I don't think Greene even expects that pass, Bratt threaded that pass through 3 Flyers and past 2 Devils to get it to Greene.

You think Greene was just standing there watching Bratt do his thing while thinking "What a show, Jesper!" and then Bratt passes to him and he's like "SH-T!!":eek::eek:

:DD:DD:DD

But in all seriousness, if you look at where Greene was, he was parked in front of Talbot in an angle where if he connected on Bratt's pass, that's a Goal, PERIOD.

He had a wide-open net on Talbot's right-side(Andy's Left) to tap it in.

He just missed it.

Damn it.

2 points away from tying last years point total. With 25 fewer games played. And he got most of his points playing on Halls line last year, and he has never been on Halls line this year if I remember correctly.
