Not looking good soo far for Marchenko this season. Not only is he still pointless this season but he is struggling defensively without the puck. Hopefully he turns it up, he is dragging down Morozov and Podkolzin
Give him a year with Torts, and Marchenko will learn to play the right way.
He wouldnt make a Tortz coached team.
Canucks fan trying to pump up Podkolzin, that’s all. Nothing to see here.Have you been watching him?
I'd like to get more information on what Marchenko's defensive deficiencies are. I mean precisely, what is he doing wrong?
Exhibit A for why people on here tend to wrong player evaluations. Obviously here we have a player who is past juniors in his development, but can't light the world on fire in the KHL yet. If he was playing in juniors he would probably get tons of praise(looks at Khusnutdinov). Instead he is getting the negativity for not scoring at will in the KHL. In both cases people need to pump the brakes. Scoring a bunch in juniors at this stage of development is no guarantee for stardom. Not scoring against men is no indication for a bust too.Marchenko with 6 points in 4 periods in the MHL.

Also exhibit A for why Russians who leave for the CHL early rob themselves of a more flexible and proper path of development spending whole seasons in juniors without a chance to move up due to age restrictions.
I hope SKA sent him to MHL just to get conditions after the break.Marchenko looked solid in the KHL, and he started to get going right before he got COVID.
I refered to several posters here who started claiming he is having a bad start to the season and how that was telling of his quality as a prospect.Marchenko looked solid in the KHL, and he started to get going right before he got COVID.
Pushing him to 7 points in the last 5 games.
