Does that really matter when both teams are committed to spending to the cap every year? If I had to guess, I'd say the deal was based around a little cap relief for the Bruins and a prospect that the Flames like. Regardless of the names or pieces involved to even it out, that's the only thing that really makes sense.Foligno is also owed roughly 2M more in actual salary as well.
Lucic for Foligno would be a dream. Foligno is at best a #13 forward at this point.

Foligno I understand but Smith and Zacha seem a sight more valuable than Lucic.

I don't disagree with the premise, but beyond Lucic having great ties to Boston, I don't get the reasoning for trading Lucic to Boston at all. Why does Boston want him?
On top of that, Calgary is better off paying Boston to offer future considerations in return. Like offloading someone to Detroit or Yotes or whoever so we can chase a top 6C.

I‘m surprised Boston didn’t buy out Foligno.
Oh god no! It's happening again! What is Tim Thomas up to? Rich Peverley? May as well call up Chara and Seidenberg.
I think you are seeing a personalized add my friend. It may be hinting at somethingLucic reuniting with Boston would be as romantic as this ad we keep getting spammed with on this site.

Do I kiss him, or leave him?I think you are seeing a personalized add my friend. It may be hinting at something
Why not both?Do I kiss him, or leave him?
Calgary has no reason to make that trade. At the very least Lucic scored 10 goals last year, is a leader in our dressing room, was top 20 in hits among forwards, and is still the toughest SOB in the league. Foligno had two goals on the year for crying out loud.
More likely you see Craig Smith for Lucic than Foligno imo
I think if they want to get tougher it makes sense. And tbh they probably do need to get tougher. They’ve lost their way in that regard the last few years. Too busy being the nail to be the hammer. But Boston has no reason to make a deal like that
Just saying but I never got this ad… lolLucic reuniting with Boston would be as romantic as this ad we keep getting spammed with on this site.
