Aging ego doesn't count. ;)

Exactly. People need to stop clinging to the "they were awesome until Lebron got hurt" narrative. They had lost 4 of 6 before his Christmas injury and before that they were just ok, nothing special.

Their defense was/is awful, and their fundamentals are terrible. They are near the bottom of the league in turnovers and at the bottom of the league in free throw shooting. Those are mental issues, it's got nothing to do with James being hurt. Even the media sycophants who have been sucking up to James and the Lakers all year have abandoned that narrative.

And it's not just the bad teams they lose to. They're something like 8-13 against the current Western playoff teams as well.

Throw in the embarrassment of the historic Lakers franchise getting punked by New Orleans of all people at the trade deadline, James calling out his teammates (while refusing to play hard himself, or skip games after a late night making recordings), and you have plenty of typical LA drama for sure.

Hopefully they'll sit him sooner rather than later so we can stop hearing about the Lakers 24/7.

If they irritate you that much why are you reading and posting in their thread?

It was 2018 when you need 3s so Magic brings in Beasley, Lance, and Rondo. Luke and his drinking buddies are not exactly professors of Xs and Os. Bring in some real assistants, Luke.

Lebron has a defensive rep, but in the regular season he stands outside the lane and lets teams score layups.

Lonzo is shooting 41.7% FT. Starting NBA PGs need to shoot 70+ % so you can play them in the last 2 minutes. The Lakers are a hot mess.

It will if Magic Johnson doesn't learn how to construct a roster in 2019. LeBron's performance level is not even slightly the issue, the Lakers roster is constructed to brick almost everything they shoot from 3.

This really sucks.

The injuries are a big part of it too. 17 games missed for Lonzo (and counting), 19 for LBJ, 12 for Ingram, 35 for Rondo, and now Ingram and Kuzma are back to being injured. Basically everything that has gone wrong, has.

We're in full tank mode now, hopefully. Get a high draft pick, construct a better team.

The haters will have their schadenfreude but at least LeBron will finally have a long off-season. Just have to hope our bad luck with injuries doesn't continue into next season.

Lebron and Magic got played !!

New Orleans took them to school.

They leaked out the trade offer with no intention of trading Davis to the Lakers. It was payback for what they saw as tampering.

Now the Lakers, just like every team Lebron has been to, is dysfunctional....why because Lebron brings the Drama!

I agree, but the way the team has been shooting from 3, this is something I think would have inevitably become a huge factor anyway. In the playoffs or now.

Lakers are and always will be my first love, so yeah, disappointing.

Another L.

Will LeBron's Lakers tenure go down in history in a similar light to Mark Messier's Vancouver Canucks tenure?

no

lebron is not the issue. of course he's going to get all the blame because he's the star but the real issues are the lack of D and luke's crappy rotations. not to mention the lack of shooting and the zubac trade which are both magic's fault

lebron has played fine, despite his injury

Lebron Is going to demand that Walton gets fired....

How many coaches is LBJ gonna blame?? Greatest coach killer in the history of the NBA for sure.
Lebron has always wanted a yes man as coach not someone who would push him to be better or play within a system.
