For purely playoff purposes, I think Cole is an upgrade on Jurco. Same sort of player, but Cole has the whole shooting thing down a lot better.

He didn't play much on the PK in Dallas this year.

considering the clause in the deal that the Wings not only had to make the conference finals, but that Cole had to play at least 50% of the games, the possibility of him finding the bench for long stretches was something Holland has to have considered.

And if we are fully healthy, Cole being benched isn't a bizarre idea.

I think Cole is going to surprise some people. He still has something left.

For now I see him filling a top 6 forechecker role (Basically the spot left by Helm).
It will be a trial basis until Helm gets healthy. If he thrives, he sticks. If not, he slides down and plays a 3rd line checking role, which he is more than capable of.

You're hilarious lol. This trade is substantially better than the deal for legwand last year. Value-wise it's fairly reasonable ESPECIALLY since we still have our first.
