Meanwhile down in Mestis KooVee has dressed 9 skaters against Ketterä. Bush league.
And they were hanging on the win until the last ten minutes. The whole game in 3 dman rotation. Hänninen and Wehmas played 43 minutes.

But yeah its madness that there aren´t any rules regarding this kind of case. People have questioned why they did not loan more players from their youth/affiliate teams. It would not been very smart or responsible move to get more players sick. And I doubt affiliate would have been willing to loan players.

Any hope for IFK? Another loss this time Lukko.

There is always hope when season is still young and early.
I wouldn't personally like those so called ''HIFK fans'' who are panicking and freaking out right now.
Those idiots haven't ever been real fans who stands behind the team with good seasons and bad seasons.
That group who's been whining and crying all over social media and internet aren't more than gloryhunters.

HIFK's current team is enough good to make playoffs but probably not enough good to win championship title.
HIFK has had lots ups and downs last weeks and also injury bug has beaten the team once again.

The whole goddamn staff from front-office and lockerroom are all pros.
There is alot knowledge and information what HIFK is doing wrong right now.

So only what HIFK desperately needs is TIME AND PATIENCE that's all
results like wins and points WLL COME sooner than later so why to panic and freak out now.
Lets panic and freak out in March when regular season is over if there is any reason to panic and freak out.

Well said. I'm still confident they will be in the playoffs come spring.

Pelicans on top is nice to see.

Also a great win for SaiPa against Kärpät. Also have a thing for SaiPa generally because Kotiteollisuus are from Lappeenranta.

Behind the net
Wonder if the changes to stats will affect the NHL drafting numbers and/or interest on players and goalies from other countries. As people probably know, wisehockey provides the stats these days. So for example goalies will get less saves on their stats, since if a puck is going 2cm wide off the net it doesn't count as a save. I assume same goes for shots. So for example when player shoots the puck 2cm wide, and the goalie saves it, it doesn't count as a shot nor a save.

I think this has biggest effect on goalies SV%.

Example from todays games, after 35minutes of play Kalpa's goalie has 4 saves and Tappara's goalie has 8 saves.

Edit: Ville Peltonen arvosteli voimakkaasti älykiekkotilastointia, tamperelaisyhtiö vastaa kritiikkiin: ”Pitkässä juoksussa tarkkuus on huomattavasti parempi”

Posted a thread about this on the "By the numbers" area as well, with some stats:

Four goals in 13 games for Jukurit 21-year-old Daniel Makiaho.

It doesn't appear he's ever played for Finland national junior team but it looks like he is a decent sized player.

Is there anything to see in terms of a late bloomer prospect or is his game more fit for Liiga/Europe?

Pelicans are going strong. Always thought their sweater was cool.

Anything to see in the 21-year-old defenseman Petteri Riihinen for Pelicans?

Not much in terms of offensive numbers but +5 in first 15 games in his first full season.

Riihinen has been quite solid TOP 6 D for Pelicans. He doesn't do anything extra and just focuses on playing Pelicans's defensive zone well. He plays actually quite a lot (average 17:53 per game). An interesting player
