Deep in the Purple jungles of BC
Well we're movin on up, To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up
To the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.
Fish don't fry in the kitchen;
Beans don't burn on the grill.
Took a whole lotta tryin'
Just to get up that hill.
Now we're up in teh big leagues
Gettin' our turn at bat.
As long as we live, it's you and me baby
There ain't nothin wrong with that.
Well we're movin on up,
To the east side.
To a deluxe apartment in the sky.
Movin on up
To the east side.
We finally got a piece of the pie.

I feel that both Matthews and Nylander somewhat feed off of the intensity level of their linemates. When nylander was dogging it, matthews often looked like he was doing the same. Now, I feel that nylander is driven to play up to Tavares' work ethic, and Matthews is driven to play up to Marner's. Now they're all bringing it and it's glorious.

There were talking about this on the radio two.days ago.

Add faceoff percentage to the list of improvements since Keefe took over.

It's above 50% in his time as head coach now.

We are playing like a really solid hockey team. I think we are on our way to a successful season. Firing Babcock saved the season. It looks like we get a different opponent in the playoffs this year as well.

Pierre Engvall should be the Leafs shutdown 3C and Kerfoot should be moved in the new year or summer.

William Nylander is back on track imo. I'm curious to see how productive he can finish the season.
Kerfoot isn't going anywhere anytime soon...

Happy New Years everyone. Thank goodness we start the year with a real coach, unlike last year where we had an imposter as coach and we were mediocre for most of January onwards.

I normally don't care about empty net points, but I was glad for Tavares. He was terrific tonight and had a bazillion chances, so good for him. That duo is lethal lately.

Also, paraphrasing:
*Leafs allow their first shot in over seven minutes*
Millen: Wow, Leafs need to get one here because this does not look good for them.
*He's told that Wild can barely get a shot away*
M: Leafs are desperately trying to block shots to keep the Wild at bay, they're just taking it to them.
*Millen is told that the Wild don't really have that much shot attempts either*
M: Andersen has been terrific! He's not been busy, but the chances have been absolutely terrific. Terrific goaltending.
*Millen is told that the Wild didn't really get a lot of scoring chances either*
M: Wut?
...
M: Let's talk about goalies some more.
You sir, make a my dreams come true.
