Santorelli played alot of RW to Kesler in Vancouver.

Lupul - Kadri - Santorelli
Komarov - Holland - Clarkson
Ashton - Kontiola - Frattin

I feel like LW is locked in for now but RW can swap in any combination.

Great depth move.

Bottom 6 guys will have to fight for a job, the way it should be.

As per Rielly, he trains with Santorelli... so could be a familiar move.

Nice signing for you guys.

Santorelli wasn't just good for the first half of the season, he was ridiculously good. Was top-10 in the NHL in ES points for the first half of the season, and scoring like a high-end first-liner from 2nd/3rd line minutes. Can play center or wing anywhere in the top-9 with equal effectiveness, so an awesome utility guy to have.

Showed up here last year as the hardest-working, most-fit player on our team and skated his ass off - excellent skater who plays a three-zone game. However, this wasn't the book on him in the past, so whether he can maintain that consistently is still in question. Also suffered a serious shoulder injury to end his season in January ... so might not be as fit as last year.

Wish him well and wish we'd kept him. Was probably caught up in the housecleaning with a new regime here.

I'm really starting to love our bottom six! Kontiola, Holland and Santorelli can all compete for the 3/4C spots come training camp. Santorelli can even play the wing so they could possibly all crack the lineup. It seems like Vancouver fans were very disappointed they couldn't sign him and speak very highly of him so that's great news!

Only concern with Santorelli is health

Jan 2014

The struggling Vancouver Canucks can’t seem to catch a break on the injury front.

The team announced Thursday centre Mike Santorelli has undergone surgery to repair a torn labrum in his shoulder. He’s expected to be out the next five-to-six months.

“After consultation with our team physicians, we determined that Mike would require a procedure on his shoulder,†said President and General Manager, Mike. Gillis in a statement released by the team. “The surgery was successful and we expect a full recovery.â€

Wouldn't accept 1 year deal with #canucks RT @DarrenDreger: Leafs have agreed to a 1 year deal with Mike Santorelli, $1.5 mil.

Really like this signing. Versatile player that could play bottom 6 centre or even on Kadri's wing.

Another $1 - $1.5 mil signing to continue to help fill out the roster.

Adding some depth to the bottom 6 and changing team dynamics further.

You have 4 Cs that can play on the wing now in Kadri, Kontiola, Holland and now Santorelli. Heck, Komarov and Ashton can take draws too but of course are better suited as checking wingers. Lots of versatility.
