meh, would've preferred to sign Legwand on a 1-3 year deal for more money.

How good is this guy really? seems like a pure 3rd line C.

Perfect guy to pickup to finish up the bottom 6. Just wonder what happens with Holland now.

Love it. Prefer a bunch of smaller moves than a Clarkson/Komisarek 3.0 signing.

Love that we've stuck with short terms and low dollar amounts.

Wouldn't accept 1 year deal with #canucks RT @DarrenDreger: Leafs have agreed to a 1 year deal with Mike Santorelli, $1.5 mil.

And we are done on the legwand race. Interesting how he declined the nucks.

More good business. I believe he plays C and wing. He was on pace for like 50 points last year IIRC until he went down. Tore it up the 1st half of the season. Could be similar to Raymond for us last season.

we have too many centres now. Have to feel like there is a move coming with basically a full roster and 5M of cap space (once we sign our RFAs)

Santorelli can play wing or centre, so this ends the negotiation with veteran centre David Legwand. Leafs still have $4-5 mil cap space.

That number includes projected RFA signings

Not great, not bad. Not sure who the 3rd line C is between him and Holland but I guess that will be sorted out through healthy competition. Atleast we maintain a fair bit of cap for our RFAs.

He wouldn't take 1 year from Vancouver but took 1 year from the Leafs?

Is he good on the PK? That was our biggest need here and why I was interested in Legwand.

Tough to say for sure whether or not it's the better option, but given the Leafs track record with monster contracts, this is a refreshing change.

Clarkson contract must have scared Nonis. Or, more likely, Shanny's laying down the law.

Can Santorelli take faceoffs?

he can play wing, so this is not neccessarly a move that would block holland !!

Edit: it sure does feel wierd that the leafs aren't throwing big bucks at fringe NHLers lol
