too much money. The kids a nobody. Holland got too much too. No space for the kids to play on the roster at the moment.

The problem with Marincin's offense seem to be that he is naturally risk-averse. He's got the qualities to put up some points, but rarely puts himself in position to do so.

Completely agree. He's definitely underrated when it comes to his offense, but that's mostly because he's not a black hole like some people are insinuating.

To be completely honest though I don't mind his 'risk-adverse' style of play if he plays with a partner like Rielly. Rielly has that all-out attack mentality at times, and playing with a strong stay-at-home defenseman seems to be whats best for him. They both fed off each other after Hunwick went down and we saw both of their best hockey when they were paired together. They almost seem like a Hjalmarsson/Keith lite type pairing where the transition game almost completely goes through Keith, with Hjalmarsson carrying the load in the defensive end. It also puts Rielly on his strong side, which i believe is really important if we want to see another breakthrough this season.

Marincin is good defensively, and can help get the puck out of the zone.

For a guy that so classically fits the definition of a defensive defenceman, which is what everyone salivates for around here, he sure isn't liked much around here.

He probably doesn't spend enough time running around out of position while going for a big hit to fit the classic definition of a defensive dman (at least for some)

hes a good defensive D, can be great imo...hes really long and fast, just missing a bit more size and strength, hes only 200 pounds jeeze, thats nothing for 6'4 so hopefully he hit the gym hard this summer...he wont carry the puck well though, nor will he pass it or shoot it that well, but hes okay enough in those aspects

we got enough offensive skills on the blueline with rielly, gardiner and zaitsev...so some size and defense would be nice

Yes, risk-averse is the perfect complement to Rielly. It will help Rielly continue to develop his offensive and transition game to potentially blossom into a top 30 D in the league in the future
