That's not a legal contract.

I think some Leafs fans are going to be disappointed if they think Muzzin is signing for less than $5 million. The absolute least I see is $5.5 million AAV. In reality, he's probably going to get a contract similar to Mike Green, something like 3-4 years at $6 million AAV.

Which is fine. Just don't overpay on the term.

3 x 5.5-6 is ok.

trade does not equal sell.
Muzzin should be able to be flipped for a younger less proven dman.
he is a 'need' but, i'd rather not resign him, and dont want to waste the asset.

when the trade involves losing a proven D for a less proven D with upside it is literally selling.

And he is absolutely worth that right now.

Hockey is not played on paper. He is massive in the room and brings cup experience on the backend. He is a calming presence and is our most physical and best defensive D. We need 3 more of him, not more question marks. Oh and he loves the city.

So, what do you guys think Lindholm gonna sign for next contract? He is a future Ducks-captain, so probably gonna be somewhere around 7.5m a year.

Why do you choose not to learn from history?

History is filled with guys effective until close to 40 and somes beyond.

Blake, Bourque, Pronger, Chara, Chelios, Suter is still good, Lidstrom, Leetch, Keith, Gonchar, Campbell, Hainsey, Zubov, Stevena, Regehr, Larry Murphy etc.

All those guys have 1 thing in common they all either or still are good players late in their careers.

4 years is fair you are wrong stop choosing to be wrong.

Choose to be right.

Most of those guys are 1st ballot Hall of Famers

You can go squirrel hunting if you like, but I'd rather save my bullets for big game
