I thought Petan had a great game last game, and I have not been a fan. If he can string together a few more of the same games though, I can see him making it a harder decision.

I remember Petan playing really well at the World juniors for Canada. Not given much of a shot in the peg nor here. Hoping he gets a legit shot at some point. I think he can play

He'd be a tough one to lose honestly. He's seemingly coming along through the system nicely

Agreed. I think he looked good with Kerfoot and Mikheyev, but I'm not sure theres really room for him

We’ll see how the next couple games go.

I really want to see Agostino with Kerfoot and Mikheyev. Timashov has looked the best among Aberg, Petan and himself on that line, so he could break camp there unless they give Agostino a shot.

Then it comes down to whether we do Moore-Spezza-Agostino, Moore-Gauthier-Agostino or Moore-Gauthier-Spezza on the 4th line

Agreed.

He shows some great skills and hockey sense but he 's fighting the puck right now.
A confident scorer would have held the puck longer to stretch the goalie on the backhand attempt set up beautifully by Agostino the other nite.

Wonder how he shows during camp scrimmages?

If he can start winning a few more the battles, I could see him as a viable 4th line option with Spezza who can finish.

Been a big Agostino fan so far. Hope he grabs hold of a spot and then when Hyman comes back, we'll figure it out from there

I'm very impressed with Timashov so far, always been one of my fav prospects, should be NHL ready after one more season on the Marlies

Excited to get a look at Neuvirth. Would be great if he has some game left.

If I'm Spezza and Gauthier I'm becoming best friends. Like "let's go dude, we can both lock this down here". Can't wait to watch it

Babs with some big praise for Harpur and Harpur talking about sticking up for his "brothers". Harpur is locked in whether we like it or not (I don't hate it... but he's gotta be better than last game, and I think he will be). Id say Harpur is our 3rd pairing Lefty boys. Babs wants some snarl and another PK D

I'd like to see Neuvirth steal the backup job if he can stay healthy... guy can steal games when he's 100%. Also interested to get a look at Woll in the 3rd tonight.

He was better than I thought he was, I have never seen or at least noticed him on the Sens

I know a lot of people are down on him, especially with the great play of Sandin thus far in preseason...but I can't help but want a guy like Harpur on the team come playoff time. He needs to be with a puck mover though for sure. May be him and Sandin as the third pairing to start

When Timashov is put on waivers he’d be a nice pickup for a rebuilding team. Middle 6 tweener. I’d lay odds Ottawa grabs him.

Harpur has outperformed expectations for me. I have no qualms with his play. He's not a perfect player and had rough stretches in the 1st period of his debut, but as a throw-in, i've been pleasantly surprised with what he brings.

He can skate better than most his size, has a decent first pass and eats up space in the D zone. Most importantly, he knows his role based on his interview today.

Harpur was definitely solid in this 1st game. The hate he's gotten so far is completely unwarranted.

This fanbase just hates and makes a villain out of anyone who actually has some grit.

Matt Martin is fan-favorite in New York...but we wanted to kick him out as soon as possible. Matt Martin again was a solid 4th lineplayer last year, for a team who went to the 2nd rd of the playoffs.

I think Harpur is/will be the #7 guy ... Marincin will be #6 and Sandin will need to play well in the last few preseason games against NHL players

Exactly. And he's only 24. He knows his job is to carve out a role as a PK specialist and try to stick on this team long term. We're going to need guys who we can maintain and keep on the cheap. And win or lose the fight I like having a guy who will go to war for his teammates. Believe me guys like Johnsson and Rielly appreciate what Harpur did last game. He sounds like a lock almost from Babs interview. When the whole team is together, him and Muzzin would create some long reaches on the PK together
