Matthews

Jersey gets the best player in the deal but Toronto also gets a very good player in Hughes and they can sign Pietrangelo and possibly Hall on a shorten contract, go for the cup and still have the young core intact in the long run.

So who says no? Maybe the Devils add a little.

Maybe, but that doesn’t mean he wants to play in NJ. Keeping Hughes gives us more years whereas Matthews could be gone in 4 years.
