Great 3rd period by the team. Andersen was solid. Matthews 10th!

Remember all those "wasted 2nds for Boyle and Plekanec" threads? Leafs young players learned a lot from those games. This game was more of a playoff atmosphere even this early in the season. Much more physical and had some history and pride too it.... Without that experience... I think the Leafs get rolled today.

Leafs don't make the playoffs 2 years ago without Boyle (IMO) and Plekanec helped show the leafs how to step up in the playoffs last season... great additions, good moves.

Matthews has turned Kappy into another weapon. Kappy was being wasted on the 4th line, Willie on the 3rd line with Kadri gives us serious depth up front. Just hope that father time has not caught up to Marleau.

Don't know if mentioned already but Leafs start 4-0 on the road for the first time since 1993.

Matthews and Kapanen had there best 5 on 5 game.
Tavares line wasn't that great. Frequently outplayed by the caps top line.
Lindholm/Kadri/Brown were good.

Defence:

Rielly - B+. Played solid.
Hainsey - B + Best game i've seen from him.
Ozighanov - B + Best game i've seen from him as well. Way better then Marincin...
Zaitsev - B + I didn't notice him, which is really good. Great game.
Dermott - C - He's going through some growing pains, but you can tell he's talented.
Gardiner - C Not terrible, not great.
