You forgot Lou is telling some of the players to play weak and be outmuscle, that way it will be easier for him to trade for them when he moves to another team.
And there is a new one now that Hunter is leaving and taking most of the scouting department with him...

Andersen is at .940 with a 1.77GAA in 5 games (305 minutes) (5/5 shootout) against Germany, USA, Norway, Finland & South Korea. But lets see what it is after the Latvia game on Tuesday and if they win that, the QF.

People calling him non elite needs to re evalute what makes a Leafs goalie elite.

Leafs have been inept at team D for as long as I can remember. We chewed up more tenders than I can I want to know and that's a sad reality. We had some solid conference finals in there with some elite tenders.

Andersen is a great tender but he had a bad series along with our team D that failed him.

So Mc got pulled in canadas loss. Did anyone watch the game? Was he bad or was the team bad?

Canada's D was worse than Mc. The first goal was an own goal deflected in on a cross crease pass. The second was Finland finally cashing in on their third high danger deflection chance in a few minutes and the third was on the keeper but Canada basically spent the whole opening giving away the puck, giving the Finns the front of the net and taking bad penalties.

Vlasic looked like he was still on the plane and Edmundson (spelling?) was just brutal.

Thanks.
I hope we pull it together.
That said the fins are a good team

as if 6 game sample that includes hockey powerhouses such as South Korea/Germany/Latvia/Norway proves anything.

Also leading all goalies in minuts played (362 min). 2nd in shots against (178).
He had so many highlight saves during this tournament. He really liked playing in his hometown it seemed.
The fact that he posted such a save % and GAA on team Denmark, makes it much more impressive - well done Freddy.

The expert commentator on swedish TV said, every team at the worlds would like to have Freddy in goal. He is the best goalie in this tournament, he said.

Danish TV had an interview with Babs, who had visited Freddys parents at home. He was all smiles and full of praise for Freddy, the danish people and the danish crowd. He finished of by saying, he'd rather have Freddy playing well in the ECF right now than at the worlds. Next year, he said.

BTW, I wonder how many guys parents has their sons coach visit them at home? :dunno:

So Babcock was also at the Russia Vs. Sweden game yesterday and Russian journalists finally caught him and, when he was asked about Nikita Gusev, he didn't only praise him, but also mentioned that there was a discussion about him with the Leafs management. Hard to tell what exactly did he mean by that, but maybe some grounds for speculation here? :naughty: I mean, it's hard to imagine Gusev coming to Vegas after they ******* up the Shipachyov situation, so the trade at some point might be pretty possible. P.s. the full interview is here (in Russian, of course): "Россию нельзя назвать по-настоящему сильной". Канадский тренер-чемпион Майк Бэбкок – о четвертьфинале ЧМ

Yeah because Denmark is a powerhouse team known for elite defense

Denmark would still be the favorite in probably 3 of those games... and how many NHL shooters are on those 4 teams? 5? you think this tournament in any way shape or form proves Andersen is an Elite NHL goalie?

Andersens parents are just angry that Mike played their son into the ground this past season and he's only visiting them to "straighten things out". Rumor has it Andersen's mom answered the door wearing a shirt with Freddy's face on it. Need any more proof that there's a rift in the dressing room? :sarcasm:

Well, actually I more or less already did summarize it in my previous post, but to be more specific, he was asked about players that he liked and he named Zaitsev and Kaprizov. After that he was specifically asked about Nikita Gusev, here's my very rough translation on that part:

-What's your take on Nikita Gusev?
-We discussed him with Leafs management. He is a good player. Even a very good one.

-Would you take him to the Leafs?
-The most important is if the player wants to play here. We have a lot of eyes, we're following a lot of players. And we are seriously working on good players joining us. We don't care from which country they are, it's important that they would want to play for the Leafs.

proves it more than your meaningless opinion of him since you want to be a dick about it

Great so Matthews' mom is pissed cause he is playing too little and Freddy's mom is pissed cause he is playing too much. Wonder how Leivo's mom is feeling towards Babs :)

LOL.
Probably making the voodoo doll as we speak. Of course in Leivo's case, it's hard to be mad at someone you've never met. Has he ever met Babs or does he just sit in Lou's office (or Kyle's now).
